For me, 26 rebs in season opener; new team, was surprising. I think he's a cancer, but we'll see.

i can see why some people think that. I just think he is immature and not good offensively

Is there a "had to work for that rebound" stat?

Howards seems to get more uncontested rebounds than any player i recall seeing

That's some good cancer there. Cancer usually doesn't make a sick person healthy like Howard did for the Magic and is now going to do for the Rockets.

Not quite, but there are definitely new ways to track this stuff. One way, they basically build some sort of "zone" so to speak of where the ball comes off the rim, and how far a player is from every possible rebound, and they can tell you what % of rebounds you get that are with 3 feet, 6 feet or something like that.

Surprisingly, Bosh who hasn't exactly been a good rebounder lately, it kind of help explain that. He had one of the better rebound % on rebounds in his zone, or within his reach or whatever, so the difference is really with him being stretched away from the paint so much, it would appear.

I watched the game.. as the Rockets are my team..

And yea most were uncontested.. the other person he was fighting for the rebound most of the night was Asik.. and other Rocket teammates.. As he you could here him yelling I got it all night. lol

As for his debut it was not bad.. Could have been better though.. As he had quite a few turnovers on spins move and stepping out of bounds, and holding the ball too low and then fumbling it out of bounds as he made his move to the basket. I think he stepped out or lost the ball a combined 6 times. And he helped the Defense at the basket immensely.. specially when Asik was in the game as both block shots, so if you got by one the other was there to change or block the shot.

It was a solid showing, as I definitely don't see him hurting the team this year, except for free throw shooting down the stretch.

He's an abortion on offense. But thats not the problem. His problem is that instead of averaging 14-16 and 20-22 per night.....he wants to average 30-10 and thats not his skill set

TWolves last night ran the Thunder ragged. The addition of Brewer as stopper helps the Wolves a lot. He is a liability with the ball in his hand but stopping Afallo and Durant in 2 straight brings us something we never had. Next up for Brew, Carmello on Sunday.
