You guys wouldn't like halo either then. And I'm guessing Destiny will be the same. The invisible people in killzone were not completely invisible. Plus your crosshairs turn red when aiming at them.
Bama, not buying ghosts. Buying a ps4 to play ps4 games. Ghosts is essentially a port from ps3. I'll be in cross game chat with you all though which will likely convince me to buy it a little later on.

Yeah, two years ago, I was waffling between MW3 and BF3 and readjusting to either one was insane. I mean, in BF, you have to adjust for bullet drop, for christ's sake. If the guy is over 300 meters away, you have to aim two or three clicks above him.
Trendon, can you confirm because I don't remember. Can't you "party up" in a room and jump from one party to another at the lobby screen? So potentially you could get everyone together in parties of greater than 4 that way.
I don't know since I have never had a party larger than four, lol. Squads are now five, though. And, there are three different types of mic settings: OFF, SQUAD, and TEAM so even if you get split up, you can still chat.
All I know is I cannot wait for 64-man battles.

I haven't played Battlefield in a long time, but tried out the new game early this morning. It's tough, much different than COD. I like the larger-scale maps though.
I really think Battlefield has outdone Call of Duty in gameplay, but with only 4 person parties it's tough to get everyone together. It's possible to play all 16 on the same team, but you can't communicate with all of them, only the 3 others in your party.
Just to reiterate, it is five-man squads and you can simply turn on TEAM chat instead of the default SQUAD chat.

See, that is pretty bad ass if I am reading it right.
Example:
We have 12 NDL guys, 3 squads of 4.
We can all still chat but have different directives?
The draw of the variety of play is what is making me get BF4 as COD seems very repetitive and just run around and shoot with barely any fun strategic planning versus just dont lose B flag (hoos voice)
But thats also probably because I suck at the game and dont know the ins and outs of the strats.

Was SQUAD chat in 3?
That's awesome, that changes things. May just get PS3 Ghosts and PS4 Battlefield. Only paid $5 on pre-order for COD.

I know I am biased - having left Call of Duty - but the only reason why anyone would ever dislike Battlefield would be because it could potentially be a bit much. It's often large, it's always complete chaos (it is not uncommon to have a helicopter, a boat, a tank, and a soldier firing on you at the same time), and it requires teamwork to win. if your team sucks, you will lose. Meanwhile, you have to deal with the most realistic weapons in video games (bullet drop, muzzle lift, changing your rifle's view distance, etc), goddamn weather (unruly seas, sunglare getting in your eyes when your in a firefight, random tropical storms, dams breaking and crushing you under a rock, etc), and maps that change depending on the mode you are playing (Conquest & Domination take place in a set area while Rush [four stages of planting bombs] will take place over a few thousand meters as the targets keep moving). Meanwhile, who the fuck knows if the guy shooting at you is on the same level as you or in the third floor of the skyscraper? And who the fuck just parachuted behind me and stabbed me?
But, my god, the game is exciting, fun, and Rush might be the best game mode there is in shooters.

You would think he is getting a cut of the proceeds.
He sold me on it too.
The party/squad thing may be another reason if we all can't be on a team but looking forward to it.

I said it to AJ last year, the only reason I somewhat harp on it is because I have sooo much fun. I didn't play almost 700 hours and fire 1.4 million rounds because I was bored.
This is a preview of the final DLC for BF3. This video is no bullshit; all of that happens and happens often. Fun stuff.

So what's the negatives?

- You have two constant choices on spawning: spawn on a squadmate or back at base. Occasionally that could be 500 meters away from the action. And, sometimes, you have no vehicles.
- There's a whole helluva lot to digest at first.
- Some of the players are lunatics; if you don't spot opponents (which, admittedly, is huge) or drop medic bags or ammo when someone wants it NOW, they lose their mind.
- If you are on a shit team, your experience will be miserable.
- Air vehicles have huge learning curves. I still have trouble. I basically just use jets as very expensive taxis.
- Might not be twitch arcadey for a lot of people but, apparently, BF4 solves some of that with the close-quarters modes. I just like the big sprawling maps.

Yea the same things to like about it, are the same stuff that will annoy you at times.. For instance at times the fucking vehicles annoy me to no end.. Specially tanks..
In those moments in BF3 .. cause I didnt get COD the last couple of times.. And got BF3 for free. I just played Close Quarters TDM.. Or COD size Maps TDM with no vehicles

I have it reserved. On the fence still about getting it. COD is like NCAA its a creature of habit now. If AJ gets it and likes it I'll give it a try since our preferences align more than others.
I would like more info from those who play about things like class set ups, guns, stuff like that.

I expect a book report style post after the AJ trial run.
