You summed it up perfectly. I am horrid on D even when the game AI and user D is better than this version. I might as well enjoy the view and watch the play and see how bad and why my D got beat from a coordinator view.

Corey put me onto the overhead cam, I switched back for one game and hated it.

Blimp cam/overhead cam/off cord cam....Goat to me for this game. I now know why Corey loved it so much.

just tried it and liked it! Just have to get used it but you can read the coverage so much better.

Wait, the game brought back multiple camera angles?! Which one was the one I loved that was the recent default but just a few ticks back?

I am with Mike on this one! The defense is awfull. The read option is this game is out of control. I played a guy the other night that ran it all night basically and no matter what defense I ran it was unstoppable!

I have actually grown to really like the defense in this game, from a user stand point. The AI still pisses me off to no end sometimes! But as a user FS/MLB, i feel like the game rewards you for being in the right spot. I've improved my user defense a lot, and I really like how hard it is.

It is pretty bad.

I played Doc last night and they did make a few good plays on the ball, however, there were many passes where the defender like stopped and watched the WR in amazement.
They need a tuning update badly.

And against the option....like EA does every year, it is overdone and almost unstoppable.

Move the cursor to him, hot route and spy QB.
I am not in front of my ps3 right now, but guessing from memory.

how about instead of being all negative. we post the positives? the game is fun, defense is gonna suck but this is a fun league which is a community. you'll adapt. we'll have high scoring games. games wont be 35-0 and people bored and half assing after the half. If you cant stop me and I cant stop you, itll make that key INT that much more impressive.

I found the option is very stoppable but its a do or die mentality.

If you guess option and they pass,you are fucked.

I guess that can somewhat mirror a real coordinator gameplan of calling plays but if you pick a simple zone I dont expect players to act like zombies from the walking dead when guys are in their zone.

Still, as I said there are more positives than negatives for me and the game has been fun so far.

How fun it is when I go 1-11 (Hi Tfan!), Ill let you know then.

I don't know exactly. But if you press R3, you can view the buttons. So highlight the guy, press I think triangle, then it'll say on the screen how to do the spy.

How do you guess option?

Manually in my play calling.

Stopping the read option isn't that difficult. Just means that you have to sacrifice part of your pass rush and coverage if they aren't running the option on that play.

For example, if you spy a LB on same side as RB, and have the DE go after the HB, you have both options covered. Or blitz the LB and have the DE contain. Either way you have one guy coming in for each of the two players.

Now, that's where running the veer option and counter option and things like that come in handy, so again it's all about mixing it up and countering what your opponent is doing. I think we'll see a lot more "bend but don't break" defense this year, since once you get inside the 10 things get much tougher and you can bring more heat to shut down said run game.

If you bring heat against a good option coach, you're in for a long day.

I think I've got the answer to the option... it's worked pretty well so far and doesn't cause a massive (relatively speaking) hole in my secondary. But I'm not telling... na na na na boo boo...
