i get tired by about the 12th hole and need a nap when i go out.
A little different setup... but we play 126 over 5 days... some guys tend to skip out on the last day. We play 18-36-36-18-18... with the last 18 after we return home, because most of us take off that Monday anyway. The 2 afternoon rounds that we play are usually a scramble format or some kind of 'team' betting game that lets you relax a little.

If im doing a guys trip i'd rather be parked at a blackjack table with unlimited beers than golfing 200 holes.
I mean, i get it though.
However maybe its different sice we can gold 365 down here

2 nights ago I tell the wife I'm itching to play a round of golf. She says, "You better find a groupon"
I was talking about Tiger Woods on my PS3.
Women.

While true, I'm guessing they're having some good times getting hammered at night as well.
I think 18-27 holes a day isn't bad at all, you don't even need that early of a start.
But I agree in theory, less golf and more blackjack would make sense.

a week away from work, and all I have to worry about is how many beers I have left and shooting a decent score. That would be amazing.

The above 2 comments explain why we can't 'get the band back together'

Went to a wedding last summer, and they put us up in some of the new lodges built at a really nice course (Tullymore).
Anyway, the lodges were badass. There were individual rooms suites, but then there was a common area with kitchen, lounge with a couple big screens, 3 poker tables, pool tables, hot tub out back, grills, etc. It was fun enough with a wedding party, but I could see it being a blast to spend a weekend out there playing golf during the day and getting hammered playing cards in the evenings
On a related note, my high school football team has an alumni golf outing every year to raise some money. Im thinking of going for the first time this year, never been to a golf outing though

Yeah they are. Kegs half way through each 9. Steak dinner at the end. Winning prizes for longest drive. I love playing in those.

I love scrambles. My work puts on a couple each year just as you described.
Free beer, hotdog, chips and drink on the turn and all the beer you can drink all day long.
Then I usually golf in Hanford Dixon's golf outing every year.
He used to play for the Browns for anyone that doesn't know.
It is fun cause I have come to know him personally over the last 10 years. I work with his son at Progressive.
Ozzie Newsome comes and a few other players and make it a fun event.
They raise money for a charity and raffle off a bunch of cool stuff at the end.

Here's the place we're staying this year... it's our first time at this one... we normally stay on St. Andrews, right by Pinehurst.
http://www.2014pinehurstrentals.com/sho ... inden-road
The basic setup is golf in the morning, Hooters or a good steak dinner in the evening, poker and whatever else in the evenings. This is our 9th trip and when we first started, we always went to Myrtle Beach and hit a few night clubs and strip clubs... now it's a bit more tame and enjoying a quality steak and then playing some cards is more than enough relaxation. We gamble on every round as well... so there's lots of 'guy shit' going on.

Doing that this week. Going to Tunica, Ms for the first time. Harrahs is paying for my plane ticket and giving me a room for 4 nights. Actually they're giving them to my brother but they said he could bring anybody he wanted and since it's free, why not?

I've been playing 2 or 3 times a week since March.
