Most Americans are stupid. Thats the only explanation for our current president being elected.mbyrd75 wrote:Love how a guy can tout a plan for almost two years then come to the first debate and completely change that budget plan. Re: Presidential Debate
Thats like saying the republican view Is to scrape money off the back of the working man and neither is accurate. Im an independent myself and honestly have never felt more unrepresented. Not just in this election but local and state as well. Seems the only options are one extreme or the other. At the end of the day the thought that tax breaks for rich creates jobs Is absurd to me. middle class spending creates jobs when you cut for the top it has to be made up. Romney never answered where the money for his cuts will be made up. I have to assume it will be in the traditional republican way.

I'll be voting for Johnson--who of course was not invited.
The best thing to come out of the debate were the tweets about Big Bird. He of course responded quickly on Twitter
"Yo Mitt Romney, Sesame Street is brought to you today by the letters F & U!"

Re: Presidential Debate
Most people are of average intelligence or less. Couple that with the fact that most people don't give the needed attention to the people the elect (at any level) or important issues, much less understand basic economics and the basic principles of the constitution, and accept anything they read on Facebook as fact, the end result is two turds duking it out on stage saying nothing of any merit.

Re: Presidential Debate
agreed. Obama looked flustered all night and romney said alot of "i'll do this" but never how he'd do those things. Every 4 years we get to decide who sucks a little less than the other guy.autiger730 wrote:Most people are of average intelligence or less. These debates are a ruse anyways. Neither of these two clowns does anything anyways.
The debate needs to be between the people pulling the strings of these puppets. And by that, I mean the CEO's of the companies paying their way into the White House.

Re: Presidential Debate
Instead of voting for the guy who least sucks, people need to start voting for who they really want, even if they are gonna lose.. Then when the 2 strongest parties see major numbers starting to vote for these other parties and candidates they will have to start incorporating their policies and philosophies into their parties or lose ground and seats to those who really represent what we want.
By just complaining about the candidates and not actually voting for what we want nothing will ever change.
I mean what do you have to lose anyway, either way democrat/republican you gonna be miserable.
How do you think the republican/democrat philosophies did a complete reversal and switch, and the freaking tea party has a pretty good representation and sway over the republican party.
Votes in large numbers sway peoples minds, CEOs, and major corps may have the money, but there is far large population of people who are middle mid class and lower they need to start voting for what represents their needs, as votes can have just as much power as money, but it is not leveraged.

We live in a nation of sheeple. That's why people like Rush, Coulter, Franken, et al are so popular. They tell people what to think and believe. You're right, and it'll never happen because people want to be told what to believe and want to thump their chest and shout, "yeah, what he said!"

Re: Presidential Debate
The sad truth of the matter is the government is no long for the people or by the people. In my opinion, the biggest thing that would help is if campaign contributions were capped for individuals and corporations weren't allowed to donate. Between the two parties they have raised over $1 billion. That is just for the presidential race.

Re: Presidential Debate
IMO, it is by the people. We elect these people.autiger730 wrote:The sad truth of the matter is the government is no long for the people or by the people.
Everything 6ft said is spot on, but it's us Americans as a whole who are the problem, as we keep voting for nothing but one of these 2 parties to hold every important seat in our government.
If Americans as a whole truly wanted change, we would create change. We don't, we just say we do.
