Good thing this is just a demo...

Impressions from the demo

Good:
[*]Control over passing.. Leading the receiver, throwing to the open spot on field.. comeback routes and throwing it short..
[*]WRs comeback to the ball, and try to get open after the orignal route.
[*]There is no slow qb animation on qb runs such as qb wraps
[*]Run and pass game feels very fluid and smooth
[*]Controlling the player feels better (user control)
[*]Overload Blitzs are very present for edge and up the middle blitzing

Bad:
[*]With all the control over passing .. defense will be an adventure, unless you have great stick skills, as player control will allow you to recover better at least in the demo..
[*]the CB still sits in no where land on option plays dropping back instead of attacking the option
[*]you can still dominate the pass rush with just 4 or even 3 by usering a dlineman ..
[*]Safeties still get caught flatfooted in certain defenses, where they don't turn and run till after the wr is a good 2 yards past him.
[*]the difficulty to pick up the ball on the ground, on a fumble or squib kick

Through a few games I like a lot of things about 13.

First off you get 12 minutes of gameplay which is sweet cause last year the demo games felt rushed....because they were, this year though more time to actually play the game like you would in an NDL game.

Blocking. It appears WR's and FB's are actually aware that they are supposed to engage in a block on screens and options. Lovely to see, this may prevent people from completely taking screens and options out of their custom PB as some did last year.

The new catch animations. I think this is going be noticed as the biggest difference in gameplay for the majority. I threw a pass to the sideline, and last year with where I placed the ball the only catch animation available may have took the receiver two steps out of bounds before the ball even got there but this year the receiver lines his feet up with the sideline, turns around, and caught the pass with heels in, fading away out of the bounds. Sweet as hell!

Quickness. Very first thing I noticed on the demo was the kick return looked super quick. As I played more I realized not every player moves with the same quickness as the WR that returned the ball. The agility rating may mean something this year as opposed to just hoping to have high SPD ratings to pull away in the open field having a high agility rating on a running back is going to make it easier to hit holes. It's going to be a noticeable difference running the ball with Denard Robinson as compared to a 6'3" running back. In years past they would move very similar when juking or running through the line, now there seems to be a distinct difference. Guys like Denard will not just run quicker but juke quicker and make cuts quicker.

I thought the NCAA 12 demo was very similar to NCAA 11. This year through a few games I don't think NCAA 13 is like NCAA 12 at all. I like the improvements.

The game doesn't come out for over a month. All these comments should be put in as spoilers! What is the point of spoiler tags if we aren't going to use them!?!?

Set the demo to download it this morning, but I probably won't get to it until this weekend. How many guys have the EA Season Pass? I think we get the game the Friday before release right? (thought someone posted the date)

only played 1 half as k st vs baylor but i thought it was finally exactly what we've been asking for which is take the previous game and just make it better (gameplay/graphics not gimmicks)

looks like thats exactly what they did.

running was fun, throwing was fun...even defense was good. i think mike and other good users kill if online responsiveness is on par as well. Everything about the controls just felt better

basic animations seemed like time was spent finally making it look more realstic rather than worrying about dreads coming out of helmets and shit. tackling, running, side-line player animations...all looked good

anyone know though what level the demo is played on? All-american?

I am going to guess it was on Varsity because I was scoring at will and I can't do that.
