AJ, that was the exact same reaction I had when my friend (who I was stunned to hear say it, btw) told me, then he made me listen.

And as much as I despise that craptastic band, I had to give them credit.

EDIT: God, just reading what I typed makes me sick to my stomach. I hate them so bad.

Bama, I've been to over a half-dozen Metallica shows. They've performed it at every single show. And you couldn't understand Hetfield half the time, and they played it half-assed except for one show. Honestly, the crowd acapela was better at the start than what they actually performed half the time

This wasn't the performance I saw though, this one wasn't as good as the one I saw, plus here they only played the first part of it.

And of course AJ shows a clip from a foreign show where they actually DO perform it worth a damn

Nickelback could sing Happy Birthday and sound like shit.

I didn't say that guy sang it better....I continue to try to get my roommate to realize that Nickelcrap just uses the same power chords over and over and that they suck. Can't stand them; but they play the song damn well and actually put more effort into it in the clip I saw than Metallica does at their own shows.

Not gonna say anymore about it, I feel dirtier every time I even think about that shit band.

It doesn't matter how well they did it, Nickelback covering Metallica is like Justin Bieber covering NWA.
