Happy MLB 12:The Show day!
Re: Happy MLB 12:The Show day!
Great game. The first thing that I noticed that has thrown me off a little is the pitcher is moved back. What I mean by this is the pitcher is smaller in the screen and it takes a little bit to get used to.
The new ball physics are great. There are more choppers, cue balls and some crazy hops. The graphics, as always are top notch.
I haven't played online yet, but I'm about to give it a try.

Online...ugh... lag, lag, lag.
Here's a take on it:

But, it's really laggy.

For real, where is that review!!!Cnasty wrote:We need a RTTSer review!!!

I still remember vividly our RTTS the last time we did it lol. My guy hit for average, hitting right at .333 in AAA. I got to The Show with the Rockies, played 18 games then never played it again.

Your dude was a power guy, hitting under .300 but just mashing HRs left and right.
Ahhhhh, good times, those were.

I never liked that. Every game I ever play, I always want 100% realism.
Re: Happy MLB 12:The Show day!
I've only played a couple of offline games and a couple of online games. The first two games the lag was TERRIBLE online and offline. I was late on EVERY swing, even when I tried to swing early. Come to find out it was my settings on my TV. I changed it to gaming mode and everything is fine now. All in all, its pretty much the same game as before as far as what I do (online and franchise). Haven't messed with the RTTS yet. The 3D is nice looking, but it does cause just a touch more lag from what I could tell.ajalves wrote:baker, tball, anyone???ajalves wrote:tball or somebody want to hook us up with a review of this? thinking about getting it
Same game as '11 pretty much, but thats not a knock at all. The graphics are the best, the game is awesome and realistic! Must have if you are a baseball fan.
I may be able to add more later after a few more games...

Well to add to tballs comments, I have played 4 games onkine and havent had but vdry minimal lag. But the game did get alot of needed adjustments, fielding is way more fluid, and u get alot more crazy stuff as he stated.
Sorry guys I dont really play RTTS that much, but i'm sure its same as it has been Judy with these improve ments mentioned. What exactlly are u wanting to know shel n nasty ? I can start one n find out

Also the diamond dynasty, is kinda like the OOTP u guys are playing, u build your team, train them and manage the team. Im just finishing setting up my team, about to see what this all about.

Re: Happy MLB 12:The Show day!
It used to be you play your game, they give you scenarios and you get points based on your play. After every game, you'd have to go and allocate those points to hitting, fielding, running and those things.I_S33M_THAB33T_U wrote:What exactlly are u wanting to know shel n nasty ?
Plus, your coach would tell you to work on 3 certain things over 2 weeks. So even if you put up crazy numbers in those 2 weeks, if you didn't improve your fielding and running, say, you'd get demoted.
It was dumb.
Basically, I don't wanna do training stuff. I don't wanna have to allocate those dumb points after every game.
I heard a couple of seasons ago they were revamping RTTS, but didn't know what they did. So even if they don't have many features new to this game, they still may be completely different from what it used to be above.
Any idea?

I think it's like the ultimate team thing on FIFA. Not my cup of tea.Cnasty wrote:Go on...I_S33M_THAB33T_U wrote:Also the diamond dynasty, is kinda like the OOTP u guys are playing, u build your team, train them and manage the team. yes i remember this was in 09, when i did try RTTS out, I will make a guy play it a lil and see if it is the same for you.shel311 wrote:It used to be you play your game, they give you scenarios and you get points based on your play. I am also thinking it is like either FIFA u talk about or Madden's ultimate team, But i dont think it is, BUt am tryn to finish up on DD, n then i will make a RTTS guy and get back to u.shel311 wrote:I think it's like the ultimate team thing on FIFA. Re: Happy MLB 12:The Show day!
Ok after about 45 trys to make a team on Diamond dynasty n getting the same error message i gave up on that, Said Team name was taken n i used a hundred diffrent ones, Cant beleave everyone using same one ??
And for your anser shel, After creating the guy, the 1st thing i did was have a pratice, hitting the zone with fastballs with my pitcher, n it gave me some Points to use, So yes the system u dont like is still there. I also uploaded a few screenshots of after my 1st game, to show u. During the game though, This was as a pitcher, u get either a good batter or bad, n get points based of what u do, alot more points to earn.

Hopefully this helps u, This game still has made major improvements this year. The fielding and hitting alot more realistic then past couple years.

Will be picking this up after an afternoon exam tomorrow. Looking forward to dropping the typical triple digit hours into another version of The Show.

U gettin vita verson alsi ? I know best buy haD deal if u bought both

Yep. Actually going to grab both in the morning before the test. Really happy Sony had a deal. I can justify an extra $20 to have baseball on the road. With my work schedule (and amount of absolute dead time), I really think I can have a full RTTS and finish multiple seasons in Franchise.
