Probably to late in the conversation now, but if you have Playstation Plus you can back all your info up online and then retrieve it to your new PS3. Comes in handy if you're going to have more than one PS around the house as well. Now you can retrieve profiles, saved games, etc from the online storage and play your game on either unit.
