I was a firm believer in the Droid, but over the past 5 months or so it has started to act up. It constantly freezes, shuts down apps and overheats. I had an upgrade from Verizon so I'm cashing in.

Yeah, wait till you get over a year into your iPhone and your battery goes to shit and your phone does the same things your Droid did.
Difference is, you can't replace your battery.
As for apps, I recommend:
Juice Defender Ultimate--this thing will save your battery so damn much.
Bet Bud--great app that tracks your bets, account, etc and shows you how your bets are trending
HeyTell--this is a Nextel-type voice chat service, lets you send direct voice messages to people who have the app whether it's on Android or on iPhone.
SMS Backup--this is a must-have if you want to keep your texts
Soundhound Infinite--I think everyone knows about this but it's still a must-have
Super Stickman Golf--one of the most addictive games ever, with the highest ratings I've ever seen for an app
Touchdown for Android--if your work does Exchange server then this is a great app; it comes with a free 30 day trial, the key is $20 but wait for Amazon to put it on sale for $10. This will sync your Exchange email, your contacts, your calendar, etc and it sets up very easily.
WinAmp--Shel posted it earlier, best music player for Android
Amazon Kindle--great e-reader app

I'm currently using
handcent SMS
Zedge
mp3 ringtone maker
And a few others, looks like you can store 20k songs on googles cloud for free via google music
The guy at the att store had his apps in a sphere spinning then around on one of his home pages anyone know what that one is?

Battery Status Pro will give you a percentage icon.

I always liked Berry for his smart choices in trucks, comedy, and other fine things in life.
This takes him down a big notch. Sorry to see you go Berry!!!

Aj is like getting pujols on team IPhone.
Berry is a role player at best.

Wow, you couldn't have at least gone with Chris Dudley and Jeff Foster? Nobody had worse knees than Muresan.
