you said itll affect recruits cause itll be awkward...Furthermore, if you're not gonna attend a school because of a sexual incident in a shower, then I doubt you should attend any college/university in the world cause I'm certain almost all have had something happen in them, positive or negative.sixpackdan101 wrote:Who said it was a huge selling point?nick wrote:I doubt it's a huge selling point. I said it would be awkward, not affect anything. You're looking way too far into this.nick wrote: you said itll affect recruits cause itll be awkward...Furthermore, if you're not gonna attend a school because of a sexual incident in a shower, then I doubt you should attend any college/university in the world cause I'm certain almost all have had something happen in them, positive or negative.

It'll have more to do with the parents of the kids being recruited. It doesn't matter who the coaching staff (see what I did there?) is, no parent wants to send their kids to the molester school.nick wrote:you said itll affect recruits cause itll be awkward...Furthermore, if you're not gonna attend a school because of a sexual incident in a shower, then I doubt you should attend any college/university in the world cause I'm certain almost all have had something happen in them, positive or negative.

Re: Penn St
Still in shock over all of this. Going to try to be objective and hope that there is some kind of logical explanation from Joe tomorrow. But at this point, it's embarrassing and disgraceful. Sure, McQuery / Paterno did what was required by the letter of the law... but this isn't about just doing enough to get by, it's more about what they SHOULD have done. Some of the timeline stuff and details don't quite add up right now either. Going to hold out final judgement until I hear more, but right now, I'm incredibly disappointed in not only Joe, but everyone involved.

Re: Penn St
That seems so sketchy. I immediately thought about that when I first heard these rumors. The only thing that doesn't quite add up, if it was planned, is that if they had control over the leak, then I don't think they would have brought this out while PSU was still alive for the title. Technically, afaik right now, the NCAA has no jurisdiction over any of this and Joe has been cleared by the DA of any wrong doing. The heads that needed to roll have resigned, with exception to potentially Spanier. One I am curious about though is McQuery. If he actually saw something, then I believe that he was some kind of legal obligation that goes beyond just reporting to his direct supervisor. Could be wrong here though.ChampDizzle wrote:Weird timing a right after he breaks Eddie Robinson's record
With all of that said, if there was ever an easy opportunity to nuke the entire coaching staff and start fresh, which A LOT of PSU fans would like to see, then this is it.

Re: Penn St
People dont like to get involved or dont know what to do so they tell people with high authority thinking they will know what to do. The thing of it is if someone witnessed it I wouldn't have to tell anyone. If I witnessed it sanduskies ass would get kicked on the spot and the cops would drag him out after I bloodied him up. Who witnesses a fucking kid getting fondled by an old disgusting queer and not walk over and start throwing punches?
Re: Penn St
This year has been really sad for college football. The whole situation is sickening. However, I have an issue with how harsh people are being on Joe Pa. Joe is the only one who did what he supposed to do. McQuery did have a legal responsibility to tell the police because he was an actual witness. Paterno's account of the story would be hearsay just like his lawyer said. As it was mentioned earlier, the people who really dropped the ball have resigned. I will be upset if this sick fuck is the reason Joe Pa actually steps down and ruins his reputation, but sadly, with the way the media is handling this, there is almost no other way to please everyone. I am by no means a Penn State fan or even a Joe Pa fan, I am an Ohio State Grad who hates PSU, but I respected their program and school. Sad

Re: Penn St
Joe's weekly news conference is today and the town is swarmed with media. The school rep has stated that the conference will be focused on the Senior Day game with Nebraska, but everyone knows that isn't how it's going to go down. This afternoon I'll find some time to read up more on the issue. I do hope that this doesn't stick to Joe's legacy, but he has the perception of being everything that was right with college football and even though he did what he was supposed to do, based on most fans image of him, he didn't do enough.

Re: Penn St
I thought it was a lack of judgement to allow him near the team facilities for all these years.
Did you guys hear ESPN Radio this morning. They where talking about the DA who was originally investigating the case. Apparently he dissapeared one day and his laptop was found in a river near his car, damaged beyond repair. Odd coincidence.

The biggest recruiting battle of the year is about to kick off. Penn State vs Ohio State for Urban Meyer.

joe didn't rape a little boy himself, but he was aware of what went down and covered it up for a decade. not to mention, he and everyone else allowed this guy to still run a kids charity at satellite campuses down the road.
its gross and everyone involved deserves whatever they get.
a kid was stripped of his innocence by a disgusting guy and they were more concerned with covering up their buddies and their football program than doing the right.
fuck joepa, fuck Penn St and especially fuck the perv
