I don't know what she said in the rant because I didn't hear it or read it. But this statement is true. He should have known even without a rules sheet. Golf is a game of rules and you are supposed to know them. It's the only sport where you are supposed to call a foul on yourself. You never ground your club in a bunker or a lateral hazard. NEVER
Did you SEE the "bunker" in question? I doubt 90% of the guys playing that course would've known that was 'bunker'.
Yes i saw it. The guy fucked up. That was a bunker and the dude should have known it. He'd been at the course the entire week and played that hole at least 4 times previously. Not to mention the course is explained to them before they even get out on it. If 90 % of the guys playing the course wouldn't have known it was a bunker, why did noone else do it?
Granted, the officials should have made sure that spectators weren't standing in the bunker. But he should have known.
The golfer who was playing with him even said he didn't realize it was a bunker, if memory serves me right. Neither did his caddy.

That doesn't mean anything. He should have known. Like I said, all of it is explained to them before the tourney and they are given the rules sheet. Is it fucked up it happened? No doubt. I've seen a lot of players on the tour make boneheaded rules violations and be penalized for them.

Thus, you have shown you know more than that moron Jemele Hill. She was almost sneering as she said she felt NO sympathy for him and that nobody else should.
