While we are on the subject this seemed appropriate. Just ran across it while browsing their site. If they had an easy way to downgrade the OS it probably wouldn't even be an issue. Most of the new functionality was already available with jailbroken apps sans the ability to create folders.

Shel..key thing to take from this article was:
UPDATE2: rory sent word that if you turn off “spotlight search” in settings, the iPhone 3G comes back to life. Comment below if that fixed the issue for you.
hopefully that gets your iPhone back up to spec.

does this fix my phone from not being a piece of shit? This 4.0 shit is garbage. I tried to play a song my phone froze up, showed me the apple sign for 2 mins, then went back to the screen.

oh and ive dropped it so many times i cant turn it off with the power button on the top. It is beyond frustrating.

OH and for 2 weeks i couldnt' talk to people on the phone. It was kinda peaceful

bumping this up...

anyone have a link on how to jailbreak an iphone 4 running 4.1.2 software? I've searched around and found some that say work, but after reading up on them, it seems most "how to do's" work sometimes and sometimes not. Didnt know if anyone here has had luck jailbreaking an iphone 4 with the newest update.
