the offer will end soon. you can check their site.
if you sign up for directv, let me know. you can get $100 and i can get $100 and all of our friends will turn into benjamins....or so i've heard somewhere...
as for internet, i got an htg thunderbolt that will run 4g when it gets here in a few weeks (hopefully). i was in atlanta last week, and on the 4g service there, my phone was downloading 13K and uploading even higher. verizon dude says he can unlock my phone and make it a hotspot with no charges. i'll be doing that when we get 4g and turning off my landline service. can't wait.

U Verse would be my first option or Fios but neither are in my area.

I was reading back and you said you called DirectTV but it was way more expensive once the promotion ran out?
Like how much more expensive?? Getting ready to call them.
Any DirectTV peeps wanna give me their information for that reference discount, feel free to PM me.

When we bought our house, I had direct tv set to come out and install but the day before I decided against it because after the promotion ran out, it woulda been more expensive than what we pay now for brighthouse. considerably more if I'm not mistaken.

You are right Mike. Im very lazy when it comes to this type of crap because I dont want to deal with the installation and calling and doing all this negotiating crap.
Im all motivated at work to do it all. When I get home I never think of it again.

I have had it since we bought our house...the signal has only dropped like 3 times in the 12 years I've had it...their HD is excellent on my Samsung...and the SD on our older TV looks better than Comcast did...
I went with what is closest to their current Choice Plus package, and have HBO(5 channels of it)...the more premiums you add, the cheaper they are, and HBO gives you HBO GO as a perk for subscribing, so you can watch HBO series on your phone, tablet, or pc.(I think this is cool, because it has entire runs of older HBO series--Sopranos; Curb your Enthusiasm; as well as episodes of current shows, in case you miss one or are just bored).
something I just started messing around with, is their library of VOD stuff...some you pay for and some, like the tv is free, but it's another way to watch stuff, and it's free(the VOD service is).
One thing I recommend, is their 5.99 protection plan...it will allow you to replace receivers and/or the dishes if they break, the hard drive in the reciever fails, or if they upgrade them, all for free. I had my living room dvr die at 3am, called, and had the newest model HD DVR arrive the next day, free.
Their customer service is in the US, and they work hard to keep you once you are a customer.

Great info Toro.
More questions, how much did your package go to once the promotion time ran out?
Is this the best deal they normally run for new subscribers so the best time to get in?
How fast did they come and install it?
How much do you pay a month if you dont mind me asking and for what?

My biggest fear is after the promotional time I pay like $250 a month for cable.

If so, I may have to go Plasma. Sorry Toro but he gave me his crap last year and I never used it.
If I can use both Ill give both your info.
Plasma you need to PM your stuff again if so.
