5-11 since the AS Break, went from first in the division to 54-53 and second place. Coincides with Kelly going into a slump (21 of his last 90). My offense begins and ends with him getting on base, he sets the table for everyone else.

Being -6 in pythag isn't helping either, worst in the whole league :(

Now I gotta figure out what SP to send down to bring Torres back from his rehab, and there's no clear "winner" on that.

I was just looking at my team page and just noticed that I have 5 guys on the 60 day DL and 10 more guys currently in my minors spending lengthy stints on the DL. If I hadn't rebuilt this year I would have been screwed with all these injuries anyways.

Kelly has a .300 OBP since AS Break which isnt that bad, not great but not that bad. not bad enough that hes the sole reason your team is bad

he's been epitome of a workhorse.

very few 8 ip 1 hit 10 k's type games but seems to always go 7 ip with 2 or 3 er and gives quality starts

could be my bias speaking as i look at him that way, but thats how i'll remember him and remember him i will as this will likely be his last in a Spitter uniform

He's gotten on base 12 times in the last 10 games (out of 47 place appearances). That's about .250 over the last 10 games. We are 2-8 through that span with five of those losses being by either 1 or 2 runs.

If Kelly's on, it means a Paco hit drives him in (if he doubles or steals) or puts two on. If Kelly's struggling....Paco's just on w a hit, nothing more. That sets the table for the rest of the team if they're both on. It's simple baseball.

You're right, you know more about my team than I do, you know so much more about OOTP than I do.

I mean, who am I to question the logic of the guy who has a .483 record, one division titles, and five playoff appearances in 17 seasons?

 well if you take the last 2 seasons out where i am deliberately losing badly on purpose, i have a .503 winning percentage but understood.

9 people in a baseball lineup
you think 1 player affects your entire team

what do the other 7 guys do? stand around and pick their asses?

but whatever you think.

btw youve been with us for 10 years and have 2 playoff appearances   so 5/17 > 2/10 ...

Ok, so I'll give you .503; I think I'll stick with my .565 with a team taken over (not drafted) devoid of much talent that I had to build up. Oh, and as many division titles as you have in almost twice as much time. ;)

Btw please show me where I said he was the only guy, I said he sets the table and helps my offense (which is built around OBP and hits, not power) score runs. But you're right, leadoff hitters matter nothing, that's why teams in real life don't worry about them. I'm gonna get back to worrying about my team for now.

You must have some filters set or something. He ranks 85th in career VORP. I didn't realize he failed to sign twice. I don't know if that ever happened IRL.

Louisville Bats started in 2018

793-772 = .506 ;)

anyways enough rambling. you go by OBP (even tho Diaz has a .400 OBP vs Righties and you dont even play him). My bad, I'll stop replying to your excuses.

don't be mad cause he used to own Hartford!

and guys have been drafted twice and not signed before, but typically after high school then after their jr yr. (not sure if ever twice in top 10 picks tho, highly doubt that)

I love when jsence tries to use stats and then they blow up in his face! :D
nice job nick!

the last 4 years you have finished 2, 1, 5 and 2 in your division.
So I can see how you made the team a little better.

You're right on the winning %, I miscalculated (went 796/1403 instead of 1565) and left out one "162" as I was adding. Stupid work got in the way

As for Diaz, small sample size ftw! Not to mention OPS v RHP is Gomez > Diaz and I'm pretty sure I know which of MY guys is better against RHP than you would. But again, please keep telling me how to run my team, you've done such a great job running yours.
