Re: Presidential Debate
I tried watching a little just because of this thread.
I was right, it's pointless. They both get up and talk about all the stuff they will do, that they actually won't do. Then the other guy gets up and says he's lying. Then the other guy gets back up and says he's not lying and the other guy is lying.
Just turrible.

Re: Presidential Debate
Debates are just another form of scripted reality TV. If you let this change the way you vote, you don't need to be voting.

Re: Presidential Debate
There are people who say they are still undecided. Most of the questioners last night said they were undecided. If you are undecided at this point you must've had your head underneath a rock.LetsGoPeay wrote:Debates are just another form of scripted reality TV. Re: Presidential Debate
But but Obama said something about some terror attacks and that is very important to which candidate will do a better job over the next 4 years!!!!!LetsGoPeay wrote:Debates are just another form of scripted reality TV. If you let this change the way you vote, you don't need to be voting.

Re: Presidential Debate
If you're undecided at this point you need to take a look at third parties. Too many people are too stupid, short sighted, scared, or jaded to vote for a third party candidate though. That's why it will always be "business as usual" with our government. The big money backing the two big parties will keep calling the shots.

Re: Presidential Debate
The thing about third parties is that you really are throwing your vote away. I do believe you should vote your conscience and if you truly support one of the other candidates then you should vote for him. In the end, it is going to be wasted though. Maybe down the road but not in the near future.
Re: Presidential Debate
I saw him lie about calling the attack in Libya a terror attack. Then I saw the moderator back his lie which she shouldn't have done. It was a lie. A flat out lie. He didn't call it a terror attack for 2 weeks. I watched the address in the Rose Garden the next day. He said it was a response to that video and so did the rest of the White House staff.shel311 wrote:But but Obama said something about some terror attacks and that is very important to which candidate will do a better job over the next 4 years!!!!!LetsGoPeay wrote:Debates are just another form of scripted reality TV. Re: Presidential Debate
While true in the literal sense(though I'm not sure I'd say it's wasted, but I get what you're saying) and definitely the short term, I know I'm speaking the obvious, but if everyone collectively thinks this way then the 2 party system will never be challenged.OracleHCR wrote:The thing about third parties is that you really are throwing your vote away. Then none of us should ever vote for Obama because Romney didn't lie at all last night!!!

Re: Presidential Debate
That's just it. People tend to ignore his lies. And when they say Romney lies, which he didn't, he was pretty spot on all night, people shout from the rafters.
Smoke and mirrors. If you say it enough people will believe it. baah baah baah little sheep.
