The F.B.I. on Monday raided the office of President Trump’s longtime personal lawyer, Michael D. Cohen, seizing records related to several topics including payments to a pornographic-film actress.
Federal prosecutors in Manhattan obtained the search warrant after receiving a referral from the special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III, according to Mr. Cohen’s lawyer, who called the search “completely inappropriate and unnecessary.” The search does not appear to be directly related to Mr. Mueller’s investigation, but likely resulted from information he had uncovered and gave to prosecutors in New York.

While page 666 of the random thread seems like a more fitting location... I'll drop this one here:

Looks like the tables are turning and we're going to keep this special counsel crap going...

So I've listened to it once, will probably have to listen at least once more... I know many of you slant left and haven't heard or dismissed a lot of the stuff in here, but just to give you perspective, this 15min resolution is damn a punch list of items that have been bantered about on right slanted forums like The_Donald and 4Chan and on Fox shows like Hannity and Carlson. Over the last 15 months or so, 1 by 1, each of these items have come up and people have linked them together, but never as sequentially as this.

This may sound outlandish, but you're talking potential outcomes including jailtime and stripping post-presidency benefits from Obama. If they push through the resolution, it's going to make the special counsel on Russia look like a 5 minute bed time story. We likely wouldn't see resolution before Trumps 4 year term. But the repercussions could be historic.

The official resolution. No idea if they can get it to a vote and passed, but that's a helluva lot more impressive than what kicked off of the 1st special counsel.

Not sure it's that easy... part of what you have to understand is that there are things uncovered in the 1st special counsel that can't be prosecuted based on the scope of the counsel. This resolution specifically identifies a helluva lot of stuff.

- House Republicans drafted a resolution for a 2nd special counsel
- I've read that it requires a vote, I've also read that it only needs confirmation from the President or AG (Sessions)
- The resolution seeks to fully evaluate the validity of the Russia counsel, how it was created, what was used to create, what information was uncovered, etc.
- Topics included: Clinton email server; Comey's handling of it; Loretta Lynch's involvement; Comey and Strozk's changed statement on the server; Lynch's tarmac meeting with Bill Clinton; Weiner's laptop contents; Andrew McCabe's wife's campaign contributions; Obama administrations lack of focus on Clinton Foundation and Uranium One; Uranium One donations to Clinton Foundation; Lynch's interaction with an informant regarding Uranium One; pressure from Obama to shut down investigation into other donors to Clinton Foundation; how the FISA was obtained; Chris Steele, Fusion, and the DNCs involvement in the dossier; proper procedure not being followed for the FISA; Comey leaking content to a personal friend; Comey breaking NDA; bias text exchanges against Trump between FBI agent Strzok and counsel Lisa Page; DOJ and FBI plant in Trump's team

There is also the full version of the clip where each of the house reps makes a statement and they throw around all kinds of terms such as treason. There's definitely posturing, but this is a really bold move that encompasses a lot of details. From what I've seen, these items basically read as a top trending list for The_Donald over the last year. Pol seems to be brushing it off that it won't take off.

It's tough with stuff like this to determine how much power it has, but this is the first time I can recall that something this specific and detailed has been brought up.

Probably read it wrong but that’s what I got from your shel notes.

Lots of resolution, council and vote talk but is anything really going to come of all of this?

Politicians tend to talk...a lot and do very little compared to how much they talk.

That's a real good question. My first thought is that it gets shut down. I could imagine if they picked a few of these items that they might get it, but they just went balls out. Bold strategy. No one really thought anyone would try to push an agenda of even half of these. The crazy part is, there are probably 5-6 other smaller things that are linked that could likely come out of it. The money trail is pretty clear and it's a big problem for the DNC/Clinton Foundation.
