Shows my hatred level for Liverpool: I cheered City winning the title.

I'll enjoy watching Gerrard fall and the cannibal cry for a very long time.

And we have our first major casualties of the UEFA Financial Fair Play regulations.....City and PSG got punched right in the mouth today: an $80m fine, transfer restrictions, and only 21 players on their Champions League squads next year.
Manchester City have reluctantly accepted a conditional £49m fine and restrictions on their European squad and incoming transfers under Uefa's new financial fair play regime.

But the club said their summer transfer plans would be unaffected by restrictions they said would limit them to a maximum £49m net outlay in the upcoming transfer window.

The Premier League champions joined Paris St-Germain, who were given a similar penalty, and seven other clubs in accepting the first wave of FFP sanctions.

Under the complex ruling the club must also agree to a string of other conditions: maximum losses of €20m in 2014 and €10m in 2015, to cap their wage bill at current levels for the next two seasons and to "significantly limit" spending in the transfer market for the same period.

The sanctions will limit Manuel Pellegrini's options when it comes to naming his 21-man European squad, cut from the usual 25, of which eight must qualify as "homegrown". City pointed out, however, that last season they registered 23 players and used only 21....

Uefa also had concerns over the value of their £350m sponsorship with Etihad and deals that raised £47m from image rights and intellectual property in 2012-13. It hoped that by combining sporting sanctions with a financial penalty it would hit affected clubs on the pitch as well as in the pocket.

Paris St-Germain admitted their jaw-dropping €200m-per-season deal with the Qatar Tourism Authority was overvalued and agreed to Uefa's proposed sanction.

Man, huge news..... Donovan has been left off the World Cup roster, along with Maurice Edu and Brad Evans

News broke at the same time as our mayor announced his budget which included the money for the stadium renovations for the soccer team, which means all our work the past 9 months has been fulfilled. So it was a very busy afternoon in our soccer world here

I know my hospital is their main sponsor and they have a cool lion logo and they are building them their own stadium.

That's where it ends.

I know what Corey knows, knows plus they'll be an MLS team next year.

But nah, I don't know any players.

Actually, they won'tbe an MLS team next year. That's the team moving here.

The MLS team will be an expansion team with all new players.....possibly including Kaka.

Orlando City is moving here to be whatever they get renamed, thus why I asked  We will be the Orlando MLS minor league team basically. I've followed the team a bit but haven't gotten to see a match, but I know they're good (two time defending champs and leading the league this year)

So all the current Orlando City players are moving to a row team in your area?

And the Orlando city team goes to the MLS but will get a whole new roster? I'm confused lol.

Yes, the current Orlando City becomes (insert name here) and relocates to Louisville.

There will be an "expansion team" created in the MLS, with MLS-level players. They get to play in the new stadium.

Four of the players from the MLS Expansion team will be loaned out to the new Louisville club every year (like Sporting KC does with the current Orlando City club).

I think it's pretty strange how they are setting up the Orlando City squad.

With that said, I love the way that the Columbus Crew have organized with Dutch Lions FC.

- I think it's pretty clear that the US is more or less writing off this World Cup and preparing for 2018.
- I also believe that Donovan's exclusion is the culmination of a personality conflict between him and Klinsmann. I have a feeling that when all the "Discord in the USMNT" stuff came out that Donovan and Bocanegra were two of the big leaks and instigators in all that.

we are lucky to be in concacaf where we really really have to fuck up to not qualify for the world cup. donavan or not, we will be lucky to get out of our group and I highly doubt he would make a difference in the tourney.

This. It's a tough group, and Donovan wasn't going to make a difference. Is he an emotional favorite? Yes. Is he one of our best 23 players right now? No. Does he maybe deserve a spot because of what he's done in the past? Yes. Do you make a team based of past performance? No.

I like him, it sucks he's not there, but we'll be better without him (how much? ehhh).

We've gotta catch a lucky break early (think Green giving us a goal against England) and then use all that momentum to steal points. I'm excited regardless, but its gonna be tough

Exactly. He himself has stated his body isn't what it used to be, he's worn down. He doesn't give us the best chance to win. We are going to struggle to get out of the group as it is; a loss/draw to Ghana in the first match may be the death of those chances right away. I like the move. He's getting the future of the USMNT some experience at this level and who knows, maybe they'll pull off a shocker. But get them the experience now in a group they stand little chance to advance from, and then when 2018 rolls around in a tournament they might get a better draw at, and they've got the experience and aren't suffering from first-time jitters.

Donovan is owed a lot for what he's given, but he also just isn't who he used to be anymore. He knew this was a possibility when he took that sabbatical, so....it sucks, but it is what it is.

I love how PSG's response to getting fined for spending too much and violating the FFP rules is to......spend a bunch more money without selling anybody
