I know you don't like him for whatever reason, but jesus, you're being extremely biased here.

Rod Woodson, Darren Sharper, Ronnie Lott. How do you explain those guys consistently getting INTs? QBs seemed to continue to go at those guys there entire careers and they still made plays. Were they not shutdown either?

Hart4Heisman wrote:baiting QBs and being out of position are 2 different things also all of those guys were awesome tacklers too. Reed is not, im not talking about big hits because i've seen Reed thay the wood.

those guys would hit you, and you would go down nearly all of the time. i see reed try for a tackle and dive at knees and miss, or jump on the pile late. that doesnt impress me.
But tackling and stuff is completely irrelevant to what I asked. You said the fact that guys still go at him proves that he isn't so shut down.

So, wouldn't that go for all the players who have a ton of INTs?
Hart4Heisman wrote:i fucking love darren sharper, IMO has been the best FS in the league over the last little while.
He's not shut down, not according to your logic. Just sayin

I'm done here.

Obviously, Hart and packsy are all knowing when it comes to football, so there's no point in debating with them.

One day, I aspire to understand "Ducks to DB" ratios.

the Browns were so bad this year.

colt mccoy was TERRIBLE all year yet somehow he kept getting the 'gutsy, smart, good potential' qb by the experts.

I am as well and was winking because you wont change your opinion and neither will we. I guess every commentator, former NFL player that praises him, and every player in the league that consistently votes him into the pro bowl is wrong as well as though and they don't know football but you do. ;)

Young. As a titans fan, he has finally worn out his welcome. Jeff Fisher would be out of a job for about 2 seconds and I dont think they could do better. Plus this draft has at least 4 first round qb's with the titans having a shot at 3 of them.

Young. Period.

On a more positive note, I'm proud of what the Bucs accomplished this season. Even with the ridiculous amounts of injuries, 10 wins was quite the accomplishment. Have a nice core going on offense with Freeman, Blount, and Williams. Defensively it will be nice to see what they are capable of when we can field the healthy guys. McCoy was starting to get things going up the middle before he went down. I'm hoping they can add some quality pass rushers on the edge during the offseason. Sign Ruud (please) and add some depth on the o-line. Even though the schedule was favorable, the Bucs getting to 10 wins after last season says a lot about where they came from last season.

Quickly moving up into my Top 5 of Things That Need to Stop in Football is the quick handoff to the upback. It doesn't fucking work. Stop it.

i'm far from a football x & o specialist like packsy and hart i never understood the idea of bringing everyone close together on a short yardage play.

the goal of a blocker, in the most basic sense, is to take out your man. if you can bring your guy 20 yards away from the play wouldn't that do the job ?

I will never ever understand the goalline formation, 3 TEs or whatever for a QB sneak. Why would you not have 5 WRs, I just don't get it.

I forget what game was this happened in because it could have been any number of games but someone yelled out, "This is why the Patriots rule. To gain one inch, they'll be Patriot players all over the field." And it is true. The same formation the Pats use for 3rd-and-6, 2nd-and-9 is often the same as 4th-and-inches.

Either way, you are pretty much spot on. However, the big packages still have a place ... just not every fucking time. And vice-versa. You couldn't come out in a pro set every time you need one yard because you don't need to be a defensive coordinator to know what to call; man free or all man, four up front, and a seven man pressure package. Good luck running into that with only five or six hats on your line and you won't be passing even if you use the most elementary of routes because of BnR coverage. Dropping defensive ends into the LB position will trick a stupid QB into thinking the receiver has the inside.

On the other hand, big packages are fucking fantastic for play action.

All in all, it is my belief - supported by my lovers at Advanced NFL Stats and Football Outsiders - that football coaches at all levels piss down their pants with most any play call not starting on 1st-and-10.

I always love Seattle's home crowd and it makes me wonder why they don't have a NBA franchise anymore or an NHL team but Oklahoma City and Tampa do.
