Re: Random Discussions
Most recent rumor from the teacher neighbors I have and some we have talked about options:
No more summers, school year round flexible to major spikes
School schedule dramatically changes basically moving summer break to the fall/winter timeframe to limit contamination
Those are the 2 biggest at this point but the teachers said there are over 10 ideas and no true answer yet since spikes are still happening.

Re: Random Discussions
I'd bet a nice chunk of change nothing really changes, at least not long term. Maybe some slight changes next year, but that's it.
We got an email from our district stating there were 3 options to start next year: Continue on as normal, continue with a hybrid of in class and at home, or fully at home. Yea, thanks for nothing there

Ya here they want to do simply unattainable shit. We have 500+ schools. They want scanning stations at every school. Everyone temp checked daily. No visitors. We’re ripping up carpets in kinder gardens and daycare rooms. Throwing out toys. They want plexiglass on all desks. Like what??

PS4, but likely to eventually be a PS5 title as well based on expectation that most late lifecycle Sony titles will end up on both.

Re: Random Discussions
Anyone have a Peloton workout bike? I always loved doing a cycle class in the Army to break up the monotony of running every day.
Is it worth it?

Re: Random Discussions
Just my .02 but how the hell would it be worth $2500 for an exercise bike when you can get basically the same thing for $1600?
https://www.nordictrack.com/exercise-bi ... 3FEALw_wcB
And I still think people are nuts for paying $1600 for an exercise bike.
Or here is a Schwinn for $799 that looks good:

You're not paying the money as much for the bike as you are the program. Peloton has created a crazy following, similar to the initial surge of Crossfit.The_Niddler wrote: ↑Mon Jun 15, 2020 10:20 am Just my .02 but how the hell would it be worth $2500 for an exercise bike when you can get basically the same thing for $1600?

If you're looking for that kind of competitive atmosphere (riding in a group setting, virtually), but you don't need the instructor led portion of it, this is what I'd recommend:
- Go to Facebook Marketplace and get yourself either a hybrid bike or road bike. If you're patient, over the course of a week or 2, you'll find a really nice $1000-$1500 bike for less than $700.
- Next, pickup a hydraulic trainer. You swap out the rear spindle for the extended spindle for the trainer and now you've got an elite stationary bike. ($50-$75 on Facebook)
- You'll need a cadence sensor and likely a power meter (about $150).
- Finally, download Zwift. It's about $10 a month and it's the app that offers the virtual training.
Now you've got a really damn good bike and you've got a large portion of the Peloton experience, for half of the price.
Global Cycling Network is a good follow if you want to learn about cycling. Here's a video on Zwift.

Re: Random Discussions
Just as a few examples of what you can find on the Marketplace...
- I had a message exchange this morning on a 2012 Trek Madone 4.6. Lady listed it at $500. Bike initially retailed for over $2500. In the marketplace right now, with the shortage on bikes, it should be selling for about $1200-$1400. It's full carbon, with solid SRAM equipment set. Unfortunately, too small for me. But if she was only 30min away, I'd have probably bought it anyway and just flipped it for easy money.

- I picked up a new hybrid bike for myself in early May for $270. Hybrid market is pretty tough right now, with most bikes selling near current retail based on their component level. This one came with Wahoo sensors, bottle cage, and I added some bar ends (moved inside for aero) and a few other things.

- Also grabbed a new hybrid for my wife, upgrading her from an old big box retail bike. $200 for a Trek with disc brakes is a steal.

You just have to give it a few days, set up a few searches, compare the components on different bikes and then be diligent about checking every 4-6hrs (sort by recently listed). In the last few months, I've also flipped a Fuji Sportif road bike, with cycling trainer and accessories, for about a $500 profit. I've sold my wife's 2004 cheap mountain bike that we probably paid around $120 for, for $90. I sold my 2003 GT mountain bike that I paid around $230 for, for $150.
All in, I've basically swapped out cheap '03 and '04 mountain bikes for like new hybrids, with solid component sets and I'm break even after some upgrades.

Belmont today, makes me excited to see a triple crown race again
Super weird it’s going first in triple crown and they also shortened it so it’s not the same long race it usually is.
