The AL is the only side that talks.

Granted half of what is said is rubbish but it's immersive rubbish!!

It's a two to three horse race every year over there. Preseason odds are ever in their favor.

On our side, the proximity of the best teams and the variation of how they match up...way more interesting. There's 7 teams right now in contention for the top seed and 7 teams in wild card contention, all of who would be ahead of the AL's current 6th seed. So, yes, it's more interesting when the outcome is much less a given.

Possibly true for viewership/fans, but for the teams involved it doesn't seem that would be the case.

Then again, I forget that Shelton's been more of bystander for the last few seasons.

Most of the "trash talking" here is just rubbish like Dak said, to be quite honest. I don't bother with such childish things. I get a kick out of some of the silly things said here but that's about it. I just want to win. I know some people here value the talk here on the boards more than the game, that's not me. I play the game because I love the game, I love building a team. The boards are just some extra entertainment and where I keep up to date with what is going on. I want to beat you guys on the field, not in a pissing contest.

Also should add, the NL is miles ahead of the AL as far as real competition is concerned. I am 20 games over .500 yet a game and a half out of the wild card. Port Orange currently holds the last wildcard spot in the AL and they are 1 game over .500.

I would be sitting pretty in that last AL wildcard spot.

Oh man, I just made up some new divisions based on going back to geographical and man are they sweet. Taking in two assumptions... San Diego to become Queen City in Ohio and Akron to become Acapulco or Monterrey in Mexico. Easy geographical lumps.

I'm mostly superstitious to talk trash about other teams or pump my own team in fear of OOTP retribution.

How so? I literally just said that I find the banter in here entertaining but it's just not my style to get involved. The point that you made was that if people in the NL talk trash, the team that plays in Canada gets hurt feelings. Care to explain further? I might be missing something here.
