For me, Bayern/Arsenal and Milan/Atletico are bigger, both tomorrow

Bayern is the team to beat, and Arsenal may be one of the few who can keep possession enough to do it

Milan needs to win the tournament in order to even have a shot at making Europe next year

The Premier League is soon going to be half owned by Americans at this rate

United (Glazers, Tampa Bay Bucs)
scousers (Fenway Sports)
Arsenal (66% owned by Stan Kroenke)
Fulham (Khan, Jacksonville Jags)
Aston Villa (Randy Lerner, former Browns owner)
Sunderland (Ellis Short, equity/real estate...and a total moron)

and now potentially Newcastle

Plus, Derby County is owned by Americans and they would be in the playoffs for promotion to the Premier League if the season ended today.

Is Khan actually American? Or does he just own the jags?

Moved here 45 years ago, college here, made his fortune here. I'd say he qualifies

Well, City won't have their manager for the next Champions League match, you can bank on that. UEFA is probably going to crush him for this.
A furious Manuel Pellegrini accused the referee, Jonas Eriksson, of deciding Barcelona's 2-0 win over Manchester City in the Champions League by rectifying mistakes made when officiating a previous tie involving the Catalan club.

The match Pellegrini referred to was a quarter-final two years ago at San Siro between Barcelona and Milan that ended goalless, with the former coach, Pep Guardiola, complaining about two penalties Eriksson failed to award his side.

After Barça won Tuesday's last-16 opening leg at the Etihad, Pellegrini claimed that Martín Demichelis's second-half challenge on Lionel Messi was not a penalty and the central defender should not have been sent off....

Pellegrini walked on to the pitch at the end of the match to confront the Swedish official. "It was just to tell him he decided the game. I was not happy because he decided the game," said the manager, who could face Uefa censure for his remarks. "He did not have any control of the game. He favoured Barcelona from the beginning to the end. I think it was not a good idea to put a referee from Sweden in charge and a referee who made a mistake against Barcelona in the group stages."

Asked if Eriksson was compensating for his perceived mistakes at San Siro, Pellegrini said: "Yes."

Pressed what difference Eriksson's nationality made, Pellegrini said: "I think there is more important football in Europe than Sweden. A big game with two important teams – that kind of game needs a referee with more experience. This referee whistled the Barcelona-Milan game and he made an important error against Barcelona. Today he remedied it.

Don't avoid my taunts!

Really? You've got Robben, Mandzukic, Mueller, and such at your disposal... so you send up David Alaba for your PK? You deserve to miss it.

I don't think it's going to matter though. 0-0... soon to change I'm sure.

The two biggest matches see the same thing happen

Home team gets a player sent off

Road team scores a second time in the final minutes to take a two-goal lead home, which is nearly insurmountable

Kinda took the drama out of it.

There were eight group winners.

Six of them went on the road and won:

PSG 4-0
Barcelona 2-0
Atl Madrid 1-0
Real Madrid 6-1
Bayern 2-0
Dortmund 4-2

A seventh team went on the road and came home with an away goal and the advantage

Chelsea 1-1

Only one group winner went on the road and didn't score a goal, and doesn't have the advantage when they return home.

Olympiakos 2-0 Manchester United

Now we can add "First win by a Greek team vs Manchester United". Thanks Moyes!
