I’m going pretty strict about advancing at the deadlines. I’ve been in dynasties where the commish was real lax about enforcing deadlines and inevitably it ended up with people losing interest and bowing out. I want to keep up moving and keep the interest up.

Rebels rally from an early 14-0 deficit to score the game-winning TD with just 3 seconds on the clock. A lethargic start by the South Catholic offense, added to the hot hand of Tim Hiller put the Western Michigan Broncos up 14-0 early in the second quarter. Hiller connected with Joe Nunez for a 60 yard strike in the first and then capped off a 96 yard drive with a 43 yard score to Jordan White. Rebels would cut it to 14-7 on Sean Burke's 10th TD of the season, a 7 yarder to Shaun Sullivan. Bad times would then fall upon Burke, inside WMU's 20, he fumbles the ball and suffers an abdominal tear on the same play. Early diagnosis is 3 weeks out. Paul Golino came off the bench and played admirably. But the defense finally stepped it up in the second half, in large part their cornerbacks. Rocco Destefani picked off Hiller inside the SCHS 20. Golino then connects with Timmy Cheever on a 75 yard catch and run that led to a Golino TD run to tie the game at 14. In the fourth, the other starting CB, Sebby Ciarcia intercepts Hiller again, South Catholic then drives 60 yards and Kenny Taylor punches it in from 6 out with 3 seconds to go to push the Rebels to 4-1.

The Govs walk into Lafayette and veto any plans the Cajuns had for victory with a ho-hum 42-7 victory. Nothing really stands out in the win as the Peay was dominant from the start. Even without starting running back Brock Thuis, who is still out with broken ribs, the Govs were able to dictate the game both on the ground and in the air.

Rebels have a bye this week, but get their first committment, MLB David Sims. Sims may be a first year starter as South Catholic will lose 3 LB's to graduation this season.

Muddogs have lost another impact player, this time IMPACT LB Bobby Boucher is out for the season with a broken collarbone. IMPACT WR was lost earlier in the season, making it 2 total impact players lost for SCLSU.
Troy State scored with 1:30 left on the clock, but missed the XP, leaving the door open for SCLSU. After driving the field, the Muddogs scored with under 0:15 to go, to pull the win.
Side note: my WR had the game of his life in this one, almost doubling his season yardage. For some reason, Troy played alot of 4-6, and refused to put anything but a slower LB on my WR Garner, and he broke the School Record (according to EA) for reception yardage in a game.

Vicki Valencourt need a get da magic H2O for Bobby Boucher or else dem Muddogs not gonna be makin’ da Bourbon Bowl.
In other news, the Peay continues to show their Peayness as they cruise to a muddy homefield win over Sun Belt rival FAU at rainy Governors Field. Backup RB Kris “The Stork” Dortch shined in this contest running for a career high 136 yards and 1 TD. Now at 3-3, the Govs look to have righted the ship after their stumbles early in the campaign and are feeling pretty good about their chances to make the school’s first ever trip to a bowl game.

South Catholic traveled to Toledo to play in a torrential downpour. Minus starting QB Sean Burke, Paul Golino took the helms under center and led the Rebels to a TD on their first drive. After that, well, the field got sloppy, and it was tough sledding for both teams. They exchanged FG's throughout the first half, and South led 10-9 at the break. The play of the game however came on the second half kickoff, Sebby Ciarcia broke off a return for 79 yards down to Toledo's 6 and Jarrod McMillan took it in from there on the next play. McMillan rushed for 103 yards and South Catholic's defense did not allow a TD as the Rebels take home a 17-9 victory to move to 5-1 on the season.

They haven't gotten to the meat of their schedule yet, namely the Govs
