I really dont understand how they can get away with charging people $60 for a digital download and the same price for a disc, packaging, etc.
I understand ease of access and all of that but shouldnt they be discounted at least $10 at the minimum if you decide to buy a digital copy versus a hard copy?

I can answer that very simply. Since you value the digital copy at $50 but they're charging $60, does that mean you're going to go pick up the disc instead?
There ya go

But shouldnt their be some incentive for the producers to go to an all digital model or at least down that road where it tremdously cuts their manufacturing costs and need for a physical copy and they make even more money?
I dont know the ins and outs of the manufacturing business of video games but it seems you put a price at $50, you get it at midnight on the release date available for download(incentive for most hardcore gamers), and the company saves a shit load of money on manufacturing, packaging and the like versus the old model of business.
I dont buy games really so I am not in either category but I would much prefer a digital copy everyday over the disc. I know some people are big about the disc and owning something and resale yada yada yada though.

If it weren't for game sharing, I'd only buy the discs for the resale factor.

Gameinformer posted some things about it. But the obvious Sony response has been "We are working on it"

Being that GameStop is going away from games that may change in the future.
But there is always ebay where I used to get way more for my games than GameStop ever gave.

For those gamesharing, can you jump on the PS app and start the download now so it is ready to be split once it is completed?

No idea where to post this... but if someone needs a gamesharing partner, I'll pick up the game. Just let me know what to do/who to pay.

We're a no go either way until I or Thabeet get some time to give me the how to instructions lol.
But in theory, if you want to do this by the PS app, didn't even know that was possible, this may be captain obvious, but you'd have to sign out of your account and do it under whatever account is created.

corey, no, you would not be able to do it through the app.
You have to first setup the account on your system before you can download.
I do not believe that can be done over the app.
You can kick off a download through the app, I believe, but until that profile is on your PS4, you wont have access to the game to download it.

I found out this morning also that you have to activate it as the primary PS4 system before in-app downloads can occur.

Totally bypassed the need for a new account and forgot about that big piece. Thanks JD

The game takes 10 years to install after a quick DL.

The way gamesharing works, now that it can only be split 2 ways:
The person that has the PSN cards, goes out and creates a generic gmail account.
For example, when I did the FIFA14 one, I created
FIFANDL14@gmail.com
I set the user information to Jim Smith from Cleveland, Ohio with a birth date of 1/1/1980.
Then, you go onto your PS4, create a profile, so I created FIFANDL14.
Then set your PS4 as the primary system for this account.
Then set up that profile for online access to the PSN store.
Once that is setup, redeem the PSN cards into this account.
Then purchase the game.
Now you can download the game.
Once complete, this PS4 will always have access to the game because it is set as the primary system for this PSN account for FIFANDL14.
Now, the second user goes into their PS4, creates the FIFANDL14 profile on their system.
Then go to access the PSN store. You will need to know the email address and password that the original user used to set this profile up in the PSN store. Enter in that information.
Once in the PSN store, I do not remember the exact screens, but something like downloads and it will show the game as already purchased.
Choose to download it to this PS4.
Once the download is complete, this profile MUST remain on this PS4 for this user to have access to the game.
So I still have FIFANDL14 as a profile on my PS4, but I have my Niddler profile set to auto log into my PS4, so I never see the other profiles on it.
If this profile is ever deleted off of this system, you will lose access to any games downloaded under this profile.
Hope this helps.
It is easier than when it was being split 4 ways as that required someone to go to a particular Sony website to deactivate systems and some other stuff. But that is not supported now on the PS4.
So splitting a game 2 ways is possible because you are allowed to own up to 2 PS4's yourself that can have access to all of your games.

Got 99% done with the initial 5GB download....and got the "cannot download, NW-31194-8" crap. This has been a serious problem since the 1.70 came out.
So sick of PSN/Sony
