shit, i'm gonna be honest... i didn't notice the librarian with the cocky clap in the face.

she had a fucking PLAN until Smart pushed big man. once that happened, she backed down quick.

lady on the right wins cause she stood her ground, but you made your point... librarian lady is pretty good too.

I'm very firmly on his side too. There's a lot of dickhead fans out there who are big, bold, and brazen when they think they're under the protection of the crowd and security just because they bought a ticket. Unfortunately for Smart, a lot of NBA executives are having flashbacks of Ron Artest in Detroit with this and unless he just completely destroys everybody for the rest of the season and makes them forget or excuse this incident, it's going to cost him a lot of money.

The kid obviously has an anger problem, SportsCenter was saying that he also got a technical foul last week (I believe) after kicking a chair when he was called for a foul. If i heard that correctly on ESPN and then the incident with the fan, he effectively cost himself millions. However, a team could get a steal if he falls in the draft.

At times?

Read your Scorecasting. The officials are Homefield advantage

Said better than I could

"If it were 20 years ago it would be different. But now there’s no accountability for the fans, nor consequences for their actions. If it was a racial slur, then treat it like saying “bomb” on an airplane. Essentially, Smart’s shoving of the fan in my opinion is a protest. When the authorities no longer efficiently police their environments, then protest must occur. Even if Smart was wrong (if it could somehow be objectively determined), he should be least at fault behind Orr, the NCAA, the Big 12 and Tech."

He has been suspended for 3 games.

For you NCAA fans and draft fanatics. Where do you think Doug mcdermott gets drafted? He is shooting 50% from the field, 40% from 3 point range and 90% from free throw line. To put it in perspective, Larry Bird did it twice in his career. The one problem with him is that he lacks the physicality and speed to Play with big small forwards

being on his side and him being right/wrong aren't necessarily the same thing.

i'm 'on his side' but he's absolutely wrong for touching the guy. if every kid that was called a derogatory name at a road game reacted like that we'd be seeing this every night on sports center. but it goes without saying, the TTech fan was an entitled prick who deserves an ass kicking

and talent overcomes all, so i doubt it'll effect him or his draft position at all.

This is what I've been saying.

Me personally with no dog in this fight, I'm all for what he did to that fan. Fans have this sense of entitlement to do and say things they would never do in any other setting, and those fans deserve to be punched in the face. And had Smart actually punched him in the face, I'd absolutely be sticking up for him.

But...from the school or conference's perspective, he has to be punished, and I'd say 3 games is probably pretty light, I thought it'd be much more.

you need to be able to defend your position and need to have an elite quality to play in the NBA. he's clearly an elite offensive player in college and he's 6'8 so he's going to be drafted somewhere in the 1st round. scouts will watch his tape will figure out if he can defend the 3 or 4 and that'll determine where he gets picked in the 1st round.

Adam Morrison was 6'8 and shot 50% and 40% from 3 and was elite offensively in college but he couldn't defend his position or even find a position in the league and he couldn't hit the 3 ball. Kyle Korver is 6'8 and could barely defend but found his niche by being an elite 3 pt shooter. he found that 'niche' elite spot that he could be counted on and his defense has improved enough that he can play full rotation minutes and is now even a starter. but if he never showed ability to hit 3 consistently he never would have had a chance to grow as a defender.

McDermott's future ultimately comes down to whether he can hit the 3 ball to stick around at all, create his own shot to be a regular rotation player and defend his position to be a very good player at the next level.

Well put. I haven't watched the NBA regularly since the late 90's. The style of game play just isn't what I like in a team sport, every time I watch a game it always seems to be an isolation play of sorts 80% of the time.

If none of you have gotten to see Doug McFremont and Creighton play this year they are playing on fox sports 1 now.

NBA is played at such a ridiculously high level that any small piece out of place is magnified and exploited. so there aren't as many options as there are at the college level where you can be wildly out of place and run and trap and chances are even if you leave a guy open he's not hitting a shot. in the nba they have to stay with their assignments and the reason pick and rolls are used so often and what appears to be isolation is because that screen is the most effective way to create a tiny mismatch or tiny spacing to create rotations that can get guys out of place. now if you're talking melo/kobe type 'hero ball' thats alot different and not really something that happens that often outside of a handful of players.

nba basketball is almost a different sport than college ball due to the talent level. to me the game is far better but most people don't like it as much because there isn't as much randomness as there is in the college game.

Auburn basketball embarrassment level hit an all-time high last night. I can't take anymore. Until Barbee is fired I'm finished watching this garbage.

Rick Pitino doesn't let his players read Twitter.

I wouldn't like Twitter either if most of the comments about me dealt with my quick trigger and extramarital indiscretions
