This is a great league with a bunch of great guys. Hell we are like family and hurt a little bit when someone loses loved ones and all that. Or at least I do.
When Outlaw had his issues or when Sirloin had his issues. I honestly worried for them and the families.
This is more than just a league for gaming.
I could not have said it better myself.
Sorry I am late to the conversation, I have been gone all day today.
When I am at work, the NDL boards are always open.
When I first joined, like most of you, sure, I wanted to win, I didn't do it at all costs, but I wanted to be competitive.
After a few season, once you start to get to know guys, you realize that this league is about so much more than gaming.
Like most have stated, besides the NDL games and Peay's OD league I am in, I never play NCAA anymore. The occasional practice/Ladder game or the Ladder Mania stuff, but nothing like I used to be or even when I first joined.
It really is a brotherhood!
I love when I can post a response to someone that posted a question on an off topic (nothing about football) and I can help them out.
Or when I have a question, I can post it and guys help me out.
To me, this is why I am so interested in the NDL Conventions. Once you get to meet guy in person, your relationship changes with them.
I barely knew oldschoola before last year. I honestly don't think we ever talked through the boards until the convention threads started up last year.
It took 3 days in vegas and now we are like brothers.
I know that guys like nick can get on some people's nerves, (no offense nick), but I would love to hang out and have a beer with nick.
Personally, if guys like nick and jsence ever met in person, I think their relationship on the boards would be changed forever. Again, just my opinion.
I guess I am struggling to put it in words what I am trying to say.
I think everyone that has posted is right.
Some of it is the EA quality of their game. Some of it is that some of us are getting older and do not have the time or care to play as many games.
No matter what the reason, I hope the NDL is around forever at least at a forum level.
And guys like Hoos posting his idea of only 2 seaons and then start playing other games, this may be the answer to what we need right now. I think it is a great idea.
