Anyone heard from Riccio? I'm sure this is taking a toll with his job. I couldn't imagine the stress that he would have with how volatile the market is.
I’m perfectly fine. Appreciate the thoughts. My wife and I had a baby girl on the 26th so I’ve been focused on her a lot along w my son and wife.
Work situation is just one of those things, comes with the territory and I train for periods of craziness and just to try to make the best decisions I can and stick to my process as best I can and not try to rush or force stuff or be a hero. I do a whole lot of nothing during these periods actually. So it’s quite boring and a lot of hand holding and prep work to be ready when it turns.
Really I’ve just been trying to wrap my head around the entire situation and I don’t like to speak about stuff that I’m not an expert on if I can help myself do I haven’t been commenting. I don’t know if it’s crazy overblown or we aren’t taking it seriously enough and I don’t think many people do. I do worry about my parents and anyone older and not in great health. I also worry about how society recovers mentally. Personally I’m not too concerned about my wife or kids, I just want to be a responsible member of society for this odd period. Fear is a cancer and once the seed is planted it can grow exponentially until you’re paralyzed from it. I just hope we can be practical and logical and think about other situations that we have come out of like other pandemics and natural disasters etc and be stronger as a group when it does run its course

Didn't know you had another baby. Congrats brother!
I'm with you on not knowing if we are over blowing it as a whole or not taking it serious enough. I'm probably more on the fence of not taking it serious enough, except for the older population and people with immune deficiencies.
Anyone else having issues finding supplies? The wife and I still haven't found toilet paper. We aren't going out daily for it but we have been to the store on 4 or 5 different occasions. We were able to pick up some baby wipes so that'll last us a week or 2.
The hoarding of supplies kills me with this whole thing. Nobody needs 200 rolls of toilet paper! We are down to our last 4 rolls and I am now planning on using the gas station up the street just to conserve till we can buy some.

Do NOT, I repeat, do NOT flush the wipes, even if they say flushable!
Women's products, condoms and flushable wipes should not be flushed. I know, everyone does, but ask any plumber that has ever snaked out a drain. Those 3 always come up. They do not break down as they should.

That's typically a problem in an older home. My brother is a plumber and says as much as well. The problem is once they get into the sewer system, they don't tend to make it to the facility and end up staying in sewage pipes.

Spains getting rocked right now. Theyll be the next Italy.
Do they have an older population as well?
no idea. its a pattern and every country will get rocked like this. Funny thing is "social distancing" meanwhile the dude from the CDC is like, no, you will get it it's airborne. When you BREATHE it spreads.
Dr. Tedros noted that, as the numbers of cases and deaths outside of China have quickly risen, many countries—including the US—have urgently adopted so-called social-distancing measures, such as shuttering schools, canceling events, and having people work from home. While these measures can slow transmission and allow health care systems to better cope, they are “not enough to extinguish this pandemic,” Dr. Tedros warned.
im no expert but i'll speak on it because at some points you just gotta look at this logically.
This wont end soon. The very clear reason for this is rolling effects on the hospital with more recovered/immune to make sure hospitals dont get overwhelmed. Everyones excited cause Chinas down to under 10/day but..what happens when people go out and the 14 day incubation period begins again? no ones gonna get sick again? of course they are but with 80 000 recovered (or dead) they take them out and it slows it down.. but itll continue.
Also, China has 1+ billion people and 80k affected or 0.00008% of the population
The interesting time will be when a decent set of the pop is recovered and dont have to stay home. then you gotta juggle safety of others and allowing people to return to work who can benefit society and not get sick.
My fam got swine flu last year and the disease came out in 2009. You can maybe expect to get this a few years from now.

Hopefully in a few years from now we'll have some kind of vaccine.
Do they not have a vaccine for the swine flu? I honestly have zero clue as I don't pay any mind to any of this stuff, till now, as it never affected me or my family

Try an online pickup for grocery or Instacart.
We did that and had no problem getting stocked up by just ordering online and them putting it right in the trunk when you pull up. Instacart works well for us and we stocked up on all essentials since the stores are ransacked. Took a couple days but no biggie.

Never heard of instacart. We have tried online pickup for the walmarts in our area. Even tried our large grocery store here, Hy-Vee (like H.E.B. in Texas or Kroger's)

Yep, doesn't matter if it is an older home.
They don't flow as well as tissue paper, so they don't make it out of the pipes to hit the main sewer.
Then, let's say it is a Friday, your wife flushes a tampon, you leave for a weekend trip and it gets stuck halfway out to the street. It now sticks to the pipe and sits for 3 days until you get back and future flushes may not wash it away and now it starts a backup problem, potentially.
