sometimes but not always. forcing him to play the position can see some gains, but not major usually. I remember watching zapata's range increase when he was in the minors and i was forcing him to play CF.

Yeah I was just wondering about some of the really young IFA's and high school guys, hopefully some of my younger guys will grow defensively

Yeah I was just wondering about some of the really young IFA's and high school guys, hopefully some of my younger guys will grow defensively

i would check osa and see if osa is higher. If it is, good chance they can improve. Also don't play guys at stupid positions. If an OF doesn't have 80 range, don't play them at CF, they will never get green rated at it; yet they could be an elite corner OF defensively. Same with SS without an 80 range.

Theres a reason Byron Dennis never posted a positive ZR at SS when he had 40-50 range but 100+ everything else. (Though he probably would have made an elite 3B if Houston would have ever played him there)

Boston manager Jeff Ruffin used to be the Minuteman pitching coach before his promotion to manager.

He is hoping to resurrect the career of the former #1 prospect in the NDL at a ripe age of only 27 still. A great outing against Sheltown was a good start and he will hit the 6th spot in the rotation to give the other arms some rest heading into the postseason run.
