Huskies new coach.... Mora. This is a double win for USC.

Will be interesting if UCLA would be willing to put out some more money or try to keep him if that is the case, obviously it makes sense for him to head up there, but not sure UCLA will want him to, he has kind of put that program back on the map. Would be funny though, musical chairs in the Pac 12.

The Oregon Ducks report

Marcus Mariota and Hroniss Grasu have announced that they will be returning to the University of Oregon for the 2014 football season. Win the Day.

That is big news for Duck fans, and just the opposite for the other Pac 12 teams...could be interesting next year, I think he made the right decision.

The bottom line is the better coached and better prepared team won.

Except you're very lucky that Saban fought to get one second left on the clock; you're lucky that they went w a stupid FG instead of a hail mary, etc.

Don't say there wasn't "luck" involved in having an opportunity to return a missed FG over 100 yards to win a game where the other team missed four field goals, one of which shouldn't have been missed (I'm still trying to find the false start on the made FG ). Yes, you guys did a great job and you got the win, but don't act like saying there was luck involved is an "insult".

Haha, I don't think he was the answer in SoCal either, I think Steve knows what USC is like, and he has been there before, I think he will make there offense better, and the word is he is bringing his staff with him, which will make the defense better without question.

The real question is who do the Huskies go after? Maybe Eastern Washingtons Beau Baldwin? Just a thought, I am sure they will have a list of guys already, cause if Steve didn't win that Cougar game, I am not sure Washington didn't think it was time for a new guy, which would of bene a HORRIBLE decision by them.

A lot of UDub fans, from what I'm reading, weren't that thrileld w him anyways, they felt like he wasn't going to be able to take them that next step. i'm sure they have people in mind.

And those fans are just like every other fan in the nation...they loved him when he turned a winless program into a winner...he is a proven winner, those same fans would phraise him when he won, and bitch when he lost, Price wasn't goign to win the big game for him, He was able to get everything he could out of him, but just wasn't going to.

Looks like Mett has a torn ACL, sucks for him. He was looking at being a 1st round pick, but this could change that.


Though I am excited to see a full game with the freshman Jennings, hopefully he plays well in the bowl game.

I watched Rutgers play a few times this year and Nova is beyond awful. How he kept the job was beyond me.

It was a great effort by both teams. But if you don't think Auburn had a little luck then your lying to yourself. I'm an Ohio State fan and I can say I loved the Hoke going for two call and Ohio State was extremely lucky to get the win.

Just a disaster of a transition.

Not only did they go winless but they were obliterated in nearly every game. They scored 14 vs Ball State and that improved their PPG stat.

123. Idaho

They had three very winnable games to end the season (wrapped around Florida State) and won none of them. Their lone win was against Temple, a team that lost to (an admittedly good) Fordham.

Running out of time. I put USM ahead of FIU even though FIU beat them just because they smashed a UAB team that FIU lost to, plus USM clearly had the tougher schedule.

I watched way too many Hawaii games this year and they are fucking horrible. The Hawaii/Army was a surreal experience and set back defensive football a few years.

There is nothing wrong with luck. We are not saying Auburn wasn't prepared and didn't play one hell of a game, but you have to understand there is luck in every game.

Unless you’re referencing 1995 Nebraska, 1979 Alabama, or one of a few other goliaths from college football’s past, just about any national title season or any BCS (top-tier) bowl season is built on a foundation of skill, good timing, and LUCK. Yes, LUCK.

There’s no shame in admitting this, folks. It’s not a knock on a college football team to say that it is lucky. This is a sport with an odd-shaped ball and testosterone-drenched 20-year-old male members of the human species. Of course it will be chaotic. Of course it will be unpredictable. Luck is part of the deal, everyone, and if you discount the centrality of luck in this sport, you’re willfully denying a core part of college football’s achingly sweet and maddening reality.

Notre Dame needed so many breaks to reach the BCS title game last season. Florida, in 2008, lost at home to Ole Miss and didn’t pay a price. Oklahoma, in that same 2008 season, lost to Texas but wasn’t punished for it. In 2007, almost everyone lost at least two games. LSU had nine lives that season en route to a national title. Colorado needed Fifth Down and a suspect penalty on Notre Dame in the Orange Bowl to win a share of the 1990 title. USC received a phantom touchdown in the 1979 Rose Bowl against Michigan en route to a national crown. Florida needed Texas to upset Nebraska and Ohio State to knock off Arizona State to give Steve Spurrier his only national title at the end of the 1996 season.

Goodness, gracious – almost every supremely successful college football season is paved with luck.

Luckiest team in college football history was that Ohio State team that beat Miami.

Didnt they win like 3 or 4 games in the last minute let alone the shamockery of the championship game against Miami.

Granted, Miami played like total horseshit and should have been up 2 or 3 TDs and never let it get to the point of a phantom PI call, but thats here nor there.
