I spent the week before last in Tampa, Grand Cayman, Roatan, Belize, Cozumel, and Orlando. It was never less than 92 with ungodly humidity. I was home 24 hours and then spent the last five days in Atlanta for the UA Circuit finals with my son. Every day there was every bit as hot and humid as the Caribbean. I come back to Indiana again and it’s 92 with 102 heat index. I’m done with this crap.nick wrote:its currently 97 degrees with the humidity outside. i want to vomit.

We've been somewhere between 60-70 with partly cloudy here in Northern Ireland since I got here 2 weeks ago. It's been a nice change of pace. Yesterday was a cloudless 65. Damn near perfect.LetsGoPeay wrote:I spent the week before last in Tampa, Grand Cayman, Roatan, Belize, Cozumel, and Orlando. It was never less than 92 with ungodly humidity. Does rain every other day though, so it's not all perfect.

i cant remember if i wrote this so im gonna again.
its crazy that generations ahead will look at us as savages for eating real animals, like kids nowadays look at the generations before that smoked cigarettes and think how could you give yourself all those diseases. With fake meat becoming a thing, in 20+ years we probably wont be eating real animals anymore.

Whose to say if that becomes a thing or not, but I can only imagine the outcry, from both sides, 20+ years from now when animal over population becomes a problem.
Re: Random Discussions

Probably? Can't say I've ever looked at stock for a fake meat company. But I can't fathom real meat becoming obsolete from the menu.
Re: Random Discussions
Increased competition in the space has also led Beyond's stock to whiplash as a number of food companies have jumped to get into the plant-based meat market, which analysts at Barclays have estimated could grow to be roughly $140 billion over the next decade.
Re: Random Discussions
one has nothing to do with the other
the stock could go to zero and you could still be correct.

I tried an impossible burger at a local brewery a few weeks ago. Very pleasantly surprised. Even at a little extra cost, if it means less dependence on cattle and thus less carbon emissions/deforestation then Im for it, and I love me some ground chuck

I watch d a documentary about the carbon emissions and cattle a couple of weeks ago. Guy said we could drastically cut emissions if we fed cattle kelp.Weasel wrote:I tried an impossible burger at a local brewery a few weeks ago. Very pleasantly surprised. Re: Random Discussions
I feel like a big dummy for never having thought of this...why the heck do we have to figure out our own taxes when the government knows exactly what they are?

Re: Random Discussions
Many other countries, particularly in Europe, don't "do their own taxes". The government has all the docs and knows what you owe/are due, so just send you an invoice check accordingly
My guess is that tax prep is a big industry and has some lobbying power

Re: Random Discussions
I'm not sure it's gonna replace a good steak, but something like tacos is a perfect place for imitation beef due to all the other ingredients/flavors. You don't eat a taco for the taste of beef. Even my burger, of I didn't know it was plant based, I legit don't know if I could have been able to tell the difference. Juicy and everythingGeorgesGoons wrote:

Re: Random Discussions
I haven't done my taxes in 5 years out of laziness.
Accountant told me they probably owe me money cause if I owed they'd contact me for it.

Wendy's twitter account has nothing on Jimmy's Famous Seafood. It all started when PETA put a large billboard outside their restaurant.
Spoiler!
