It isn't interesting to you that probably all the antibody tests out there are garbage?GeorgesGoons wrote: ↑Wed May 06, 2020 1:08 amregarding swabs:

Re: COVID-19
Nope. We are still trying to figure this out so I'd assume we won't really have one that works 99% of the time for a year or so, that's my guessCrowes wrote: ↑Wed May 06, 2020 7:08 amIt isn't interesting to you that probably all the antibody tests out there are garbage?GeorgesGoons wrote: ↑Wed May 06, 2020 1:08 amregarding swabs:

Get over it! We get it 100%, you don't like the president and hope he fails at all costs.

My dislike doesn't change or influence the graph does it?

How was there any butt hurt in my post? All it emphasized was that you will post whatever it takes to shed a bad light. Nothing more.Crowes wrote: ↑Wed May 06, 2020 11:38 pmButthurt muchGeorgesGoons wrote: ↑Wed May 06, 2020 11:23 pmAnyone else see all the Democrats that thought this was nothing in January/FebruaryCrowes wrote: ↑Wed May 06, 2020 10:52 pm Anyone else see the graph Trump's economic advisors put out that had covid deaths dropping to zero in about ten days

And honestly, I don't look at anything you post as I assume it is all slanted for people like you to get all riled up.

Re: COVID-19
7,759,771 tests have been completed so far
1,217,771 have tested positve
5% of all positives have died
0.8% of all tests have died
Roughly 15.69% that have been tested have tested positive for the virus so far.
If you extrapolate that to the whole population then you are looking at just over 51,600,000 people have COVID19
If you go back to my post when there was 5.5m tests done I believe it was 17.3% tested positive. A reasonable assumption is the percentage of the positives per tests will go down now that testing is opening up to more than everyone with dire symptomatic conditions.

Please never try to apply the % of positive tests to all untested individuals. That's non-sense.

Re: COVID-19
How else are you supposed to get an idea of how wide spread it is? You can't test 330M people. The only way to come up with an educated guess is to keep the testing up and look at a wider picture. There is no other way. I'm just doing the same concept as USC (or was it Stanford) did when they said up to 20% of LA County had the virus.
Ok n a good note, the percentage of people testing positve versus the ones tested keeps going down with more testing. From 17.3% to 15.69%.

NYT articles today suggests that research shows that NYC is "responsible" for 70-80% of cases in America:

Re: COVID-19
Also:
Most new Covid-19 hospitalizations in New York state are from people who were staying home and not venturing much outside, a “shocking” finding, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Wednesday.
The preliminary data was from 100 New York hospitals involving about 1,000 patients, Cuomo said at his daily briefing.
It shows that 66% of new admissions were from people who had largely been sheltering at home. The next highest source of admissions was from nursing homes, 18%
quote:
“This is a surprise: Overwhelmingly, the people were at home,” he added. “We thought maybe they were taking public transportation, and we’ve taken special precautions on public transportation, but actually no, because these people were literally at home.”
Cuomo said nearly 84% of the hospitalized cases were people who were not commuting to work through car services, personal cars, public transit or walking. He said a majority of those people were either retired or unemployed. Overall, some 73% of the admissions were people over age 51.

Re: COVID-19
Gotcha
Doesn't explain why they'd lie about if they were home or not.
They wouldn't get in trouble if they're an essential worker using public transportation to get around the city.
Also, pretty sure half the deaths in NYC are people 75 and older, so yea the most deaths and cases aren't likely to be running around town and working.
