Re: 2018 Regular Season
- With their 3-2 in over New York on the 18th, Hartford has officially made the playoffs for the first time in their history. Everyone play Powerball tomorrow.
- Record Watch
* Out for the remainder of the regular season, congratulations to Chris Kennedy for smashing his old OBP record of .4697 in 2012 with a .4826 OBP this season.
* Chicago's Alex Rodriguez is currently besting Steel City's Bill Pickett (1.1148 in 2013) for highest OPS of all-time with a 1.1176. Jaime Cruz lurks behind with a 1.1003.
* Louisville's Magobei Sakuma needs one at-bat to break Juan Torres' inaugural year record of 677.
* Can Bill Hill score eight runs? If he does, he will break Jesse Stuart's 2016 record of 147 runs.
* Jaime Cruz and Joe Lopez have already topped Joe Telvest's 48 home runs in 2011 with 51 and 49 respectively.
* Sioux City's Danny Martin - drafted in the 88th round of the inaugural draft - is about to cap off a magical season that sees him probably beat Sam Ruppert's 2013 ERA of 2.242. Martin currently sits at 2.135 and he would need to give up four earned runs over six innings (or something worse) to lose the record.
* Miami's Juan Gonzalez sits at 19 losses and will likely get two starts this week.
* Bob Elliott has already passed Bob Elliott (291 in '14) for the second place in the "most hits allowed" category and trails the '16 version of Bob Elliott by eight hits with one start remaining.
* Sandstorm hurler Nakamaro Maruyama has a 14-11 record but it hasn't been without some fun. Maruyama has given up 46 home runs, one ahead of the old record.
* Julio Ayala held batters to a clean .2000 average in '12 but Martin of Sioux and teammate Bob Baker are right behind him with .2028 and .2100 respectively.
* On the other hand, Martin will have to go out of his way to lose the OBP allowed record, currently .0122 ahead of Ayala.
* And, of course, Steven Hays' OPS is in jeaopardy as the Port Orange pitcher holds only a .0153 lead on Martin.
* The LOLCats have blown away Port Orange's 108 win '17 campaign with the 124 wins and counting while their 115 loss record is probably going to be busted by Houston, who sits at 113 losses.
- Ryan Parker, looking for his third batting title, is the one person standing in the way of Jaime Cruz' Triple Crown hopes.
- Steven Hays will likely lead the league in K's for the fifth straight season as he is a tad ahead of Bob Baker and with one possible extra start.

Re: 2018 Regular Season
Oh wow. Vegas trails Sioux City by four games but has three home contests vs the Explorers right off the bat. Then both get reprieves as Vegas travels to 58-win Detroit while Sioux goes to 54-win Steel City. Should be interesting especially since Detroit has played worse than Steel lately; winning only 20 of their last 51 games ... Steel City has won 28 of their last 53.

First sim all year that I didn't get the email. Weird.
Re: 2018 Regular Season
The old man trying to get another batting title! 36 years old and still hitting. I just gave him a 3 year deal at 12.5M a season (3rd season team option). Infielder who can play 2B/SS and bat .330 every season.trendon wrote:-

Actually, Trendon reversed it. Sioux City plays Detroit next sim after they play me. Vegas plays Steel City.I_S33M_THAB33T_U wrote:trendon wrote:Oh wow. Rodriguez has also broken Gibbons VOR record with 125.2 and the Wins above Replacement with 12.7. His .383 BA is 3rd all time, and is projected to end up with the second most RBIs.trendon wrote: - Record Watch

It pains me to see Juan Castillo do what he's doing. He is going to be amazing for years. Sucks that the computer ran my team into 70M in debt.

Everyone thought I was crazy to give up a 2nd round pick, Jerry Crouch, and $35M. Glad to see that his potential is not being wasted.Uuaww wrote:It pains me to see Juan Castillo do what he's doing. He is going to be amazing for years. Sucks that the computer ran my team into 70M in debt.

After seven seasons, I am finally getting crushed by injuries. It has been a bad season in that regard.I_S33M_THAB33T_U wrote:trendon wrote:Oh wow.
