Amazing how far I've come. Duke-UNC used to be my absolute favorite 2 sports days of the year, better than the Super Bowl even.

I certainly don't care to get into all the political stuff around that dude from Empire possibly faking and staging that assault or whatever he did.


But I read an article, and in Chicago where there's like 7 million murders every day(give or take lol) they assigned 22 detectives to his case. That's just completely absurd, and only made that much more absurd if it's proven to be a hoax.

Some dude I never heard of from that show Empire, his name is Jussie Smollett, said he was assaulted by 2 dudes in MAGA hats, they put a noose around his neck, made racial slurs...the works. This allegedly happened at 3am on the streets in Chicago during that time where it was like -30 degrees or some shit.


After apparently 22 detectives dug into it, there are 2 dudes(brothers) who are friends with him and they told detectives that it was all a setup, a fake story.


From what I gather, that's the gist of it. I was more amazed by the fact that Chicago has so many murders every single day but 22 detectives were sent to a case, even if real, of assault where the dude wasn't even injured. If it were true, I'm certainly not saying it's not a big deal, i'm just saying it's not a 22 detective type of big deal.



Where the case stands now is in the early stages of the dude being indicted for the hoax.
