After coming into the game in relief and leading Miami to their third win of the season against FIU on Saturday, redshirt freshman QB N'Kosi Perry began Monday's workouts on Greentree with the first team offense, the first time that's ever happened.

Malik Rosier worked in with the second string, followed by Cade Weldon with the threes, and Jarren Williams with the fours.

Similarly, Jalen McCleskey, WR from Okie St, is taking advantage of 2 rules put together.

He is on track to graduate this year, and through 3 or 4 games that OK St has played, he is unhappy with his role in the offense. So he will use the new redshirt rule that says you can play in up to 4 games and couple it with the graduation/transfer rule, and he's going to redshirt this year and transfer so he can play somewhere else next year.
Kelly Bryant played 4 games this season, and I believe he's either already graduated or on track to graduate.

Dabo announces Lawrence as the starter, and Bryant missed practice Tuesday for undisclosed reasons.

I wonder if he may sit out this year, redshirt, and play somewhere else next season.

Dabo on Bryant: "I felt like we gave him a fair shot. This isn't middle school. Decisions need to be made at this level"

Bryant's quotes:
“They asked me how I felt about it,” Bryant said, recalling his meeting with Swinney. “I was like, ‘I’m not discrediting Trevor. He’s doing everything asked of him, but on my side of it, I feel like I haven't done anything to not be the starter. I've been here. I've waited my turn. I've done everything y’all have asked me to do, plus more.’

“I've never been a distraction. I've never been in trouble with anything. To me, it was kind of a slap in the face.”

We don't know what was said or promised to him behind the scenes, and of course it's still pretty fresh, but those comments seem like a bit much. You just got outplayed, man. Shit happens.

Props to Dabo for putting the player first over team and making the move this week and giving Bryant that opportunity to redshirt/transfer. There's no way that is a coincidence. He could have prolonged it 1 more week, then Bryant would have been screwed.

We were just talking about this.

Many were faulting Richt for not having the balls to sit Rosier for Perry who is supremely more talented but the facts aren't all on the table. Perry was suspended for LSU and there is probably more going on there playbook grasp wise and maturity, but its very clear Perry is the better talent.

Dabo, and everyone else, saw this with Lawrence immediately and made the call just like Saban did and thats what good coaches do. Not make friends and stand behind seniors but put the best guy on the field to win.

Props to Dabo.
