that'd be one of the oddest changes in coaching of all time if they went from Stevens to the Hurricane.

I think he was named the best or 2nd best assistant under 40 last year, and he's developed quite a good track record in regards to recruiting. Plus he coached the Dom Rep national team recently, so it won't be long before we lose him to a head coaching job somewhere.

Not a chance in hell. A place like Butler would never, ever associate itself with someone even remotely affiliated with Calipari. It will be LaVall Jordan (former Butler player/current Michigan assistant) or Brandon Miller (former assistant at OSU and Illinois/current Butler assistant).

#BradStevens' wife is his agent/attorney. "I'm the only coach in country that pays 100 percent to his agent." - Stevens

Looking more and more like Dwight Howard will be taking his role playing to the Rockets.

Mark Cuban has said that he's going to eventually release the video of the presentation they made to Howard, that should be pretty cool.

FWIW, I was the one leading the charge laughing at AJ for calling Dwight a role player. :)

yes.

first non black Globetrotter became a monster recruiter for Pitt then left for Kentucky a few years ago.

has about as good of a rep as Calipari had at UMass but he gets it done.

That's crazy... hope he gets a head coaching gig so we can see a team run the weave and toss a few skyhooks from half court. :-)

Could someone who watches more NBA than I do please tell me whether or not the Pistons signing Josh Smith is a good thing?

all depends on how he is used.

less he has the ball in his hands away from the basket, the better he is. he's really good if he can play off the ball because he does other things really well (steals the ball, blocked shots, help d, gets to rim etc) but unfortunately looking at Detroit's roster and assuming he's going to play the 3, i'd guess he dominates the ball which is no good cause he'll be launching up 30% jumpers all the time that'll drive you nuts.

best case scenario for you is that he sucks this year, Drummond progresses a little and they land high in the lottery... if they can find a good PG/SG who can be the main usage guy it'll end up being a really nice signing in 2 years when Drummond matures and is able to demand more usage as well.

worst case scenario for you is that he is pretty good this year, Drummond plays well too, Monroe is Monroe and they finish like 8th in the East outside the lottery and don't really get a game changer next offseason and your stuck with this roster. you can't win without upgrading Knight or whoever the high usage guard is going to be.
