I have a feeling Akron is going to bend me over the balcony at the Mirage in Vegas tonight. FML!

31-10
South Bama declares themselves the best team in Bama, all of Bama.
The Jaguars jumped out to a 17-0 lead on Auburn and, and held on for a 31-10 win on the road tonight. USA QB Bridge only threw for 68 yards, but ran for 110 and 2 touchdowns and clearly show to be the leader of this team. Now if we can just get some decent recruits in here.

Tell me what you guys think of defense on AA. Does it need to go back to Heisman?

Re: 2015 NCAA OD Y1 W1 (9/8)
I don't know if I'd move the sliders just yet, I gambled early in this one and grabbed momentum. Plus Auburn never ran "at" me, just tried to spread my D out, and playing good zone helped me out against that. Now if I have to play a team like Bama that runs right at you, there really isn't a answer for that. And my only 2 long plays were the pick, and the 1 long run by my QB, the rest of the game was ugly football really.

WESTERN MICHIGAN SHOCKS THE SPARTYS
Broncos defense smothers the spartys
What people thought would be a blowout turned into something special. Western Michigan turned in a performance of the ages with a huge victory in Lansing.
"We did something nobody except the staff and these kids in the locker thought we could do. The defense really picked up the offense today. These kids executed to perfection and it turned out real well for us today"said the coach as he ran off the field.
The Broncos defense was stellar holding Michigan State to only 287 yards of total offense. Michigan state had 155yds on the ground but 79 of that came of a huge TD run that put the Sparty's up 7 at the half. With time expiring Key play of the game was the 37yd FG to seal the game.
Western Michigan shook off 3 INTs to continue to pound the run even if they gained 2 or 3 yds and kept Michigan St. off balance the whole game.
Final score - W.Mich 24 - Mich St, 21

Honestly this game wouldnt have been as fun on Heisman because of the talent seperation. Every snap was fun as hell. Best NCAA game I have played in a while. So much fun but im down for whatever. I had to work for every score.

Re: 2015 NCAA OD Y1 W1 (9/8)
San Jose started off with a bang this season. Taking a 35-0 lead on the first play of the 3rd quarter. The Akron offense would wake up and begin to put together some nice drives. At this point of the game Akron had under 100 yards of offense and had no life.
Once the dust settled the final score was 49-28 and Akron racked up 396 yards while the Spartans when more ball control and put up 498. Sr QB Brian Jurich had an impressive day going 30/44 421 4 TDs. The Spartans rushed 38 times and passed 44 times in route to their 1-0 start.

Re: 2015 NCAA OD Y1 W1 (9/8)
I'm good with AA or Heisman for defense. The passing game seemed a little bit easy but I imagine once we get to some tougher games, I'm not going to be as fortunate as this one.
Also....this team is fucking slow, its painful.

you dont get bored running the unstoppable read option all the time? I picked pro style simply to give myself some difficulty.fsupenguin wrote:31-10

I ran option between 10-15 times in the game, out of more than 60 offensive snaps. Did it occur to you that I might just have played this game perhaps too muchnick wrote:you dont get bored running the unstoppable read option all the time? Re: 2015 NCAA OD Y1 W1 (9/8)
Playbook wise I'm debating going with either a pro style offense or the Oregon spread offense. I've never been much on the read option stuff but would like to run a different playbook than what I normally do. There's not a single person who can say I ever ran a read option play in a user game against them!

Looks like overall user teams are having pretty good success against the CPU. Was hoping to see a little more struggle but I'll leave everything as is for at least one more week to let Jason give it a try as well as make sure this week wasn't just luck.
Re: 2015 NCAA OD Y1 W1 (9/8)
ya i went pro style to change it up. Its hard as fuck because dropping back from iform is a disaster. I had guys wide open all night unfortunately not enough time to throw.
Re: 2015 NCAA OD Y1 W1 (9/8)
I used W.Mich playbook it was quite fun. Forced me to call plays I didnt want too.

I haven't played yet, but plan on keeping the playbook for Wyoming since I'm using that coach, keeps it a little more realistic maybe?? I don't know. They have some weird Shotgun formations though....
Re: 2015 NCAA OD Y1 W1 (9/8)
Whit/Blackrain only people left, everyone else is set
Looks like interest is very high lol
Gonna use my spread playbook as I have no TE or FB on my roster. Not a single one of either.

I played against Auburn with one of my custom Pbooks, but I'll be switching to the USA Pbook for at least the next couple games to see what it's like.
