Has been ok, I just hate that I have so many popups when I open it now (won't work with AdBlock turned on anymore)

This Cowboy-Jury fight is gonna be a good one. And I hope Cormier shuts Jones up.

Cowboy tried to kick him out of the octagon at the end of the fight. Jesus, he was kicking him like he insulted his mom!

Spoiler!
That was a cheap shot by Jones there. Acts like he's done, Cormier lets go of him, and he sucker punches him. Then gives him the DX chop.

I hope Cormier gets a rematch and blasts him.

Might put your last post on spoiler. I know a few were not watching live. That said...
Spoiler!
Jones was the better man. Cormier didn't have the stamina to hang with him. Rematch will be more of the same I'm afraid.

Spoiler!
Oddly enough my opinion of both Jones and DC is greater this morning, as I think DC showed his strength but Jones proved himself to be beyond yet another great fighter. I fully agree with those who say he has put himself in GOAT conversation now, I'm not saying today he is, but he has officially become part of the conversation.

Wasn't a cheap shot at all. Still had 5 seconds to the end of the round. The cheap shot would be DC hitting him after the bell.

As to your second point, there is no way in hell he is getting a rematch anytime soon. He was completely outclassed in there. The one thing nobody here said, which surprised me, is that Jones beat DC at DC's game, inside dirty boxing. The takedowns were HUGE in my opinion, all 3 of them (1 in the 1st and 2 in the 4th).

Cowboy was pissed at the comments Jury made after the Diego Sanchez fight and it showed here. I think giving 10-9 rounds was a blessing for Jury, as I don't think he deserved a point at all in the 1st. Okay, maybe one for showing up, but he was beat in every aspect in that round. And then he continued to get beat in every aspect in the 2nd and 3rd. Guy didn't deserve to be a Co-Main Event fighter. I still think he is at best the first fight of the main card or the last fight in the preliminary card.

The most impressive guy on the whole card, Paul Felder. The 3rd spinning back fist KO in UFC history. He was doing what he wanted when he wanted against Castillo. He is going to be fun to watch. I cant wait to see what he can do off his back, with Cowboy in his camp I am sure he will get some good technique and training in.

Donald Cerrone vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov - make this fight happen UFC. Since Dos Anjos gets Pettis we need a qualifying match for the next title challenger. Would love for this one to be the Co-Main Event to the LW championship bout.

Miles Jury vs. Al Iaquinta or however you spell his name. Al beat him in the TUF house, lets see if it was a fluke.

I'm curious if DC said something to him when his hands were raised. If you watch, Jones raises his hands, then appears to say "fuck..." and throw the punch.

DC definitely needs to take on a couple bouts before he's back in the conversation again. Obviously the Gus - Rumble winner is next up. I don't know where it goes from there. I've said for a long time that Phil Davis would be the guy that could come the closest to challenging Jones, but he'd have to really tighten up his standup. Unfortunately, his standup doesn't look much better than it did 3yrs ago, so Jones would just smoke him on his feet. Jones has cleaned out 205, so the only thing left would be something that generates money... Anderson Silva moving up, maybe JDS cutting... or Jones decides to try HW, which he said he wasn't interested in right now.

Outside of the main event, I found the card to be a bit bland. It wasn't bad, like some have been, but it just wasn't good either. The good news is, Fight Night on the 18th has the potential for some big time fireworks. McGoat and Siver will stand and bang and the card is loaded with other guys that like to throw some heat or are very active. In fact, the top 6 fights on the card are probably all in play for KO of the night (maybe not Alvarez / Henderson, as they neutralize each other).

It's really the 1st of 3 straight weekends of good cards, with UFC on Fox the following weekend, having Gus-Rumble, Mousasi-Henderson and Davis-Bader... then 1/31 has Anderson Silva-Nick Diaz and we'll find out if Kelvin Gastelum is a legit contender, when he meets Tyrone Woodley, as well as quite a few other good matches.

There was one second left in the fight, he had acted like he was done, Cormier let go of him and was about to move back to the corner, and Jones essentially sucker punched him. Not sure how you got that there were five seconds left, since the horn went off a split second after it landed?

Jones won the fight, he was the better fighter; but he was classless in how he ended the fight and the things he said afterwards, both in the octagon and on FS1. Win with dignity. Cormier lost with it.

I think one of the scariest things said during the post fight interview, and what should put the rest of the 205 division on notice, is that Jones will now train between fights instead of just the fight camp leading into a fight. If he has been able to walk thru this division only with a fight camp think of how good this guy can be when he starts training year round.

Where did all the haters come from for Jon Jones? I've always been a fan of him and he was huge with the fans before getting and shortly after getting the belt. Was it the cancellation of the UFC event when Dana tried to throw Sonnen at him on 2 days notice? I think that was a smart business move on Jones part.

My guesses...

A.) People get successful and haters crawl out of the woodwork
B.) He's approaching it like a business and has a high profile with sponsorships beyond "Affliction" or "Tapout"... and people don't like it

Generally speaking when someone is breaking into new territory, the "diehards" always bring about a negative response. They are resistant to change. It often results in the vocal minority being more visible than the quiet majority. Of the people that I know that watch MMA, all of them have the same stance on Jones that they had 3-4yrs ago.

I've always like Jones. I watched a lot of his early fights, but really took notice and liked him when I watched him fight Ryan Bader. I liked the way he went about his business inside, and outside the cage. I agree with Reign on his points. Another thing that people don't like, is when someone keeps winning, they want to see new faces and fresh blood at the top. The same reason that a lot of people hate the Patriots because they always seem to be on top. Just my guess.

I like Jones, but wasnt too crazy about the WWE antics he and DC got into before this fight. But that doesnt make me dislike him. I blame Dana White for kinda letting it go on too much to drive up PPV numbers.

I agree with all of your points.

Remember how UFC 100 was a big card? I would love to see UFC 200 be even bigger, throw in the 115 pound women's belt to finish off the prelim on FS1, have Mighty Mouse start the main event defending his belt, move onto Weidman defending his belt, then Lawler defending that belt, Pettis and then have a Spider Silva / Jon Jones main event. Have it at Jerry's world, and up the PPV prices to $75. UFC has been going down hill a little and It's because these $60 PPV cards have been lackluster at best the past 2 years.

Obviously the names can change with whoever is holding the belt but these are fun weight classes to watch. UFC 200 will take place some time next year, Maybe around the 4th of July?

Would live for uncle Dana to give the fans a card stacked with talent from top to bottom.
