Playstation Network is going down....again :-(

Come one, come all. Talk about anything not league or video game football related here.

Gee that sounds alot like something the government would say doesnt it? If they want a revolution, last time I checked you have to have the people to do it. No revolution can start without the masses. So this trick of shutting down a service that many peole use. (see how I didnt put the word like in there?) They will never get the people behind them no matter how good the message is. Fact is people may not like sony or other big businesses but untill they stop using the service and stop giving them money, that consumer isnt at the boiling point yet. Its just like the occupy movement. Sure big business and the government is corrupt to a point, but the people and I mean all of the people are not fed up yet, so you have a voval minority saying everyone is fed up when its just not true.

Do I wish the middle class wasnt dying at the pace it currently is? YES! but untill we the people reach that breaking point (whenever that is) there will be no revolution. Do I think Anonymous is a good movement? I do, but lashing out at the people and saying its ok for collateral damage, sounds alot like what we currently have and if they want to gather people to their movement, then why would I choose more of what we currently have in our government right now?
I'll buy everything you said.

Wiziwig--gone
Online streaming of games outside of ESPN3--gone

Youtube--80% of videos will be wiped out
These would be the reasonable impacts of the bill, so I'm not sure they're good examples.

None of the schools would come after us for using their logos. The only reason any school would go after anyone would be if they are using their logo on apparel or items for sale. Trust me, Division I marketing offices have much bigger worries.

I would suggest you learn more about the day-to-day workings of an NCAA Division I marketing department before saying the would shut down the NDL for using their logo on a website.

You may know more about the bill than most, but others understand the other entities that are represented on the other end and how highly unlikely it is for the NDL to be even remotely inconvenienced if this were to be passed.

I'm just trying to give him a reason to care. Not that it matters, he's part of the "TL;DR" portion of this nation that allows things to be enacted because they don't want to put in the necessary 5-10 minutes of their lives to read up on something that has global implications, not just here in the USA.

I'm simply giving examples; didn't say they WOULD. That said, we are posting videos of movies, music, EA content, etc...and for that we very well could be shut down.

Most copyright litigation is handled in civil court. So arrested? Extremely unlikely.

Yes and no. They go after the people who distribute it, more than the people who download it.

Here's the difference with SOPA--right now, we can't download stuff. But this isn't just about downloading, it's much more intrusive. Here's an example....

If SOPA passes, any website that even has copyrighted materials ON their website--such as the .gif sig someone has in here with footage from "No Country For Old Men" with Saban's face on it--can be shut down by a judge, blocked by ISPs from being accessed (which means if Charter--where I work--discovers it has copyrighted material, they can "protect" themselves by blocking all internet traffic on their network from reaching onlinedynasty.net), and/or legal action taken against it. Shel wants to sit there and act like no judge will come after us....well maybe not--but if someone reports the site, any ISP can have full legal immunity for "protecting" themselves by blocking traffic to our site.

Jaywalking is a violation, not an arrestable offense.

if you put someone in danger by jaywalking, you can be arrested.

there was a case in NYC when i was living there where it happened. usually, its a class 4 misdemeanor which serves no jail time but can be fined...but under rare circumstances you can be arrested.

This post is so ironic( or is it coincidental Trendon? Lol), because you've NOT read my posts and have made, again, so many assumptions on my opinions of this bill even though I've NEVER given my opinion of the actual bill.

It falls right in line with your over the top doom and gloom thought process to automatically assume what my opinions are on this bill when I never gave them. That's exactly what I'm talking about.

That becomes reckless endangerment or some other crime. Jaywalking is a violation and is not a crime. It might seem like a small difference, it is not. That said, I don't see how that matters. This SOPA isn't about any enforcement of laws, it is about fixing a broken business model and making us pay for it. I'm sorry if - getting back to what we originally discussed - I like when someone with a suspect set of intentions (Anonymous flag-bearers) wants to annoy two groups of people: apathetic people and groups with EXTREMELY suspect sets of intentions.

Passing along this info/advice I was just given in regards to the PSN.....
If you have a credit card saved, remove it. Also, make certain your password is unique (meaning it can't be used to access even one of your other accounts--email, league, etc.)

Well maybe if you spent less time mocking me/changing the thread title, and more time giving constructive commentary, we'd know what your thoughts were.
