Re: NDLH Season 2 Thread
Helluva game Jeff... I'm losing good game after good game. Had a late rally killed by Packsy last night, lost a tough one to Jeff last night, Aj was hitting everything this morning, then this come from behind win for the Suns. 4 tough losses to great teams. (there was a 5th yesterday, but it escapes me right now, dealer maybe)
The Lakers are showing we can compete with the best, but there are so many great players right now, that this might not be good enough to hang on for a playoff spot. I still have matchups with Riccio (2x), Harder, Hugme, Jsence and a few other tough ones to go. I really only see 5, maybe 6 good chances at wins left. Hoping my team picks it up. I need to reestablish Howard, he's been MIA for the last 7-8 games.

Pistons take home a huge win on the road against the Orlando Magic, winning 86-75. John Wall went for 21 pts and 8 assists on 10/15 shooting, including his first three of the year, in just 22 minutes; and Stephen Jackson added 14 of his own. The Pistons were in a shootout to start, as Steve Nash was bombing away from downtown and hitting everything. However, many of them were with his foot on the line, and he ended up just 1/7 from downtown, while the team went 8/19 as a whole. The Pistons were a more economical 5/8, and chose to try to get to the rim, and the 46-6 discrepancy of points in the paint was evidence of this.
Detroit was down 13-16 midway through the first, and then went on a 14-2 run to end the quarter. They extended the lead by 6 by the time halftime rolled around. The Pistons then ran out some subs for much of the second half as they saw their lead get up to 26, and they worked on some plays they rarely ran. The Magic cut the lead back down to 12, but the Pistons went on another quick run to end the Magic's hopes. In the end, the Pistons walked away with maybe their biggest win under Coach Jsence, beating a coach the calibre of Ajalves.
GG AJ, your guys just went cold there for a while and I know firsthand how that can mess you up. GL the rest of the way!!!

Re: NDLH Season 2 Thread
Pistons start their season 5-0 thanks to another tough win, this time over the Mavericks, overcoming a 14-4 first quarter deficit to win 81-75. Joe Johnson of the Mavs was near unstoppable, as he went for 27 points on 11/21 shooting. But Stephen Jackson, after scoring only one basket in the first three quarters, took the game over, scoring 14 of the Pistons 30 pts in the 4th, as he hit three threes on three attempts to help the Pistons hang on. John Wall had a 20 pt outing for the 2nd straight game, but had only 2 assists after averaging 8.8 in the first 4 games, and a season high 7 turnovers.
Chris Kaman, however, was the player of the game, as he went for 12 pts, 10 boards, 3 blocks, and 2 steals. Steph Curry shot a poor 4/12 but still got 10 pts, 4 assists, and 4 steals.
GG BiggSteve, GL the rest of the way....Johnson is a monster!

It took all of the Black Mamba tonight. In 23 minutes of play, he had 47 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals, 1 block, on 19-23 field goal, 2-2 three pointers and 7-8 free throw. Raptors win in a close one until free throws extended the lead at the end. 92-86. Great game steamrollr.

That's a hell of a game, 19-23.
But why in the world did he only play 23 minutes?

John Wall scored 22 pts and dished out 8 assists, and the Pistons FRONTCOURT
went a combined 20 of 31 for 49 pts, as the Pistons pulled out a VERY tight game against the Hornets, 92-84. This game went back and forth, with no team leading by more than 5 points during the first three quarters, and with the game often within 3 pts. However, The Pistons led by 5 after 3 and were able to hold on, despite blowing an 80-73 lead. John Wall and Stephen Jackson took over at that point, as they closed with a 12-4 run. Forcing turnovers led to the win, as Chris Paul had as many turnovers as the Pistons' team combined (5), and Wall had absolutely none; while on the other side, the Hornets coughed it up 18 times. Jackson poured in 21 pts of his own, including 5/7 from downtown, and Kaman and Duncan overcame multiple double-teams to drop in 14 pts each.
The game was tied at the half thanks to a half court prayer from Anthony Morrow, one of 8 threes that the Pistons hit. The Pistons also got 44 pts in the paint to the Hornets' 22. In the end, it was the turnovers that cost New Orleans, offsetting their 57% shooting from the field and 62% shooting from downtown.
GG Shel, see u on the return leg

New Jersey snaps their 14-game skid with a wild 82-79 win over Dallas. The game was tight the whole way through, back and forth. Nets enjoyed a 37-32 halftime lead, but Dallas went on a run and eventually took a 52-44 lead in the third. Nets would get within 2 at 61-59 when New Jersey went small with Boozer at Center as Garnett and Mozgov hit the bench. Dallas was owning the glass anyways, so why not go more athletic? Nets responded with an 11-0 run and Boozer's dunk with just over 2 minutes to go seemed to give New Jersey the game with a 74-64 lead. But Dallas , more particularly Joe Johnson and Gerald Wallace, then went absolutely nuts. 3 pointer and steal and 3-pointer after another , Joe Johnson's layup with 38 seconds left gave Dallas an unbelievable lead at 77-76. It was incredible. But then Shannon Brown, kick in the cliches.... with "ice water in veins" delivered the "dagger" as he hit a 3-pointer from the wing with :32 and after a Dallas miss , Brown would deliver from the FT line and NJ survived a deep 3 attempt from Johnson as time expired.
Carlos Boozer enjoyed his best day as a Net with 19 and 7 and the key to the game, despite Dallas shooting heroics late, Dallas finished the game just 9 of 27 from beyond the arc while New Jersey was a blazing 8 for 13. Oden was a man amongst boys out there with 10 and 12, including 6 offensive boards.

Cavs and the Bobcats go to 2 OT to settle this one.
This game was a defensive struggle all night.
1st quarter:
Cavs 13
Bobcats 15
Then 2nd quarter:
Cavs score 11 to equal 24
Bobcats score 9 to equal 24 at the half
3rd quarter:
Cavs score 9 to equal 31
Bobcats put in 16 to equal 40
4th quarter:
regulation ends in a tie and we go to OT.
1st OT doesn't settle it so we go to a second.
2nd OT finally proves to be what the Cavs need to hold on for a big win.
Final score is Cavs 70 - Bobcats 61
Great game Peay and good luck this season.
Player of the game is:
PG Brandon Jennings with 15 points, 8 assists, 1 rebound and 1 block

Re: NDLH Season 2 Thread
The Bobcats had two (More like 3 in actual game time) epic games last night.
The first was a three overtime thriller at Indiana that saw Charlotte finally prevail by a score of 89-86. Dwyane Wade had 32 points, only 6 of which were scored in the first three quarters of play. In the fourth quarter and the OT's he was unstoppable as he carried his team. His most memorable shot was a Nowitzki-esque 15' runner off one foot at the .4 second mark in the fourth quarter that bounced around and fell in to send the game to OT. Charlotte also got huge contributions from DeMarcus Cousins, Josh Howard, JJ Redick, and Big Z with 13, 11, 11, and 10 points respectively. Redick hit a monstrous three in the final minute of regulation to set up Wade's late heroics.
The second game of the night saw Charlotte fall in double overtime at home to Cleveland by a 70-61 count. Wade was again huge in this one as he tallied 26 points on the night. The difference between this game and the earlier one was that he got very little help though. Josh Howard again provided a spark in his role as the Microwave off the bench but no one else was near double figures. The Bobcats could get almost nothing to fall from the perimeter or mid-range areas as well.

was a epic battle with Peay and his Bobcats. Wade took over late in the game and Charlotte prevailed in 3 OT's.
What hasn't made the head lines is Coach Peay, being back in his home state of Indiana, didn't fly back on the team plane. Instead chartered a limo and headed up to Muncie and partied it up Larry Eustachy style!

That's a bummer. We need to require at least 2 games be played between 1p - 5p EST every day. Staggered accordingly. I can find other ways to kill time during the am.

That was correct. His game froze on him at halftime for a second time. Watch when we get to play all four quarters he will be up by 22 at the half.DRiccio21 wrote:Rockets vs Clippers game going on right now?

Nets overcome a hot shooting Kings team and a 16-point deficit and earn a 74-67 victory. Kings shot 64% in the first half compared to the Nets abysmal 36%, but the second half Sacramento just turned the ball over too much and Nets clawed their way back. Every starter with the exception of Aminu, who had 9, scored in double-digits. Garnett led the Nets with 10 points, 9 boards, 6 steals, and 4 blocks. TJ Ford was the goat for the Kings as he shot 1 for 12 and turned the ball over 11 times. Take him out of the equation and the Kings were 29 from 47 from the field, ouch.
