Worked with the lady who was shot, didn't know the guy though. Some of the staff were complete messes today, understandably so
Re: Givin' some Paps
I work with a guy who is a little socially awkward and weird. He refers to hand surgeries as handjobs, says it in front of everyone (patients included) all the time and has zero clue of the double meaning. Its fucking hysterical. Just today he asked a patient if he was here for a handjob, he (patient) immediately turned red in the face, his wife gave both him and my co-worker a look that would kill, and I meanwhile am doing my absolute best to not lose my shit.

:lol:I believe it too.
90% of doctors are those kids that were picked on in school and now have money and an ego and these flashes of social skills lacking shine through every single day.
I told you this when you started medical school...don't be that doc.

Re: Givin' some Paps
I know youre kidding with that number, but Id honestly put it at somewhere in the 35-50% range. I know some really brilliant docs that just dont have a clue sociallyCnasty wrote: 90% of doctors are those kids that were picked on in school and now have money and an ego and these flashes of social skills lacking shine through every single day.

No way I would not lose it.
I would have to explain to him at some point that he cannot say that, but hilarious for sure.

Re: Givin' some Paps
So Weas, I have a question for you. In the past week I've suddenly got a lump on the bottom of my foot. It's towards the front of the arch, a little smaller than a marble, and kind of painful depending on which shoes I'm wearing. I haven't had time to get to the doctor yet so I looked it up and think it may be something called a Plantar Fibromas. Got any input or advice? From what I've read, if this is what it is, basically there's no treatment for it unless it gets so large that it has to be surgically removed.

Re: Givin' some Paps
Yeah without seeing/feeling it, it could be a number of things, none of which I would consider really serious. If it is a form of plantar fibromatosis (likely), there isnt a ton to do for them, as you said. Sometimes theyll go away on their own, although not all the time. Even if you end up needing to get it surgically removed, theyve been known to reoccur too. Essentially it comes down to being a nuisance.
Re: Givin' some Paps
Been in the ICU for the last month, today is my last day. We had a patient last week, chronic alcoholic who comes in frequently. We put a breathing tube in her, got her kidneys working again, etc, moved her out of the ICU a couple days later. After being on the general floor, she was found on the ground unresponsive with several dixie cups next to her. After smelling the cups and her breath, it was determined that she drank about a half liter of hand sanitizer. Got her better, sent her home...
Today she is back in the ICU. Apparently she was in the grocery store, popped open a fifth of vodka and proceeded to slam the entire thing. Cops called, and she was unresponsive by the time they got there. Good times.

I've only seen clear sanitizers in hospitals. Most are now switching to the foam kind.
