Cant do this, Once its set for the year its set.

You can uncheck and check them all you want during the season, And it does NOTHING.

Pfft. I'm at 4 for the season already.

Shit i raised my spending on this from 3 mill to 13 something and aint got SHIT.
Someone will have to check, but I believe $13 mil is around league average. Limit is 3 times league average and I've been at the limit every year for the past 3 or 4.

I signed a new scout before last season (in fact, fired my previous scout and had to pay out the remaining years on his contract).

SCOUTING RATINGS
Scout Majors 9
Scout Minors 10
International Scouting 9
Scout Amateurs 9

what would a scouts ratings have to do with finding talent? .. they can access talent (or not), has 0 to do with finding them.

Really?

Then, when half of the teams in the league have (just as an example) the Dominican Republic checked as an international scouting location, how does the game engine decide which scout finds a player there first? The game generates the player to be found, but only one team "finds" him and has a 14 day window to sign him before he hits free agency. Logically speaking, a scout better at international scouting would find him first. The scout also only notifies the GM if he feels the team should sign the player, so some scouts, who are poor at international scouting, may not feel the player has value and "pass" on the player.

We only use international scouting for finding players and the 10 guys at the end of the season that come over from other leagues. It makes much more sense that international scouting ability impacts both their accuracy in rating an international player and their ability to find them than only the former.

that makes 0 sense. Those ratings are how accurate they rate players, nothing to do with "finding" them.

O RLY?
When your scouting team uncovers some talent abroad, they will send you a message like this one:

my scout is "legendary" in every field and this is the first time ive had 2 IFAs in 1 season, and ive been scouting since the beginning. one of my players is terrible, based on this incorrect logic, I should be finding all the 70+ potential players cause my legendary scouts ability is legendary!!! but it dont work like that.

http://manuals.ootpdevelopments.com/ind ... l_scouting

Whether you are scouting major leagues, minor leagues, internationally, or amateurs, the basic output is the same: individual scouting reports for the scouted players. However, when scouting internationally, there is also a possibility that your scouting team will turn up a "hidden player," someone from abroad who other teams are not yet aware of. When this happens, you will have a chance to sign the player before any other team.

possibility =/= scouts ratings.

in that link theres no reference to "scouting ability affecting finding players" and thats the OOTP Manual.

Yea, you're right.

You are smarter than the manual and all knowing of OOTP king of the bottom dwellers and lord of the fire sale.

You honestly think ratings have nothing to do with any of this???

putting down other people is fun!

for the record (i never really thought about it and am completely guessing) but i would assume that the $ you put into international scouting is what determines how many you get and the caliber of your scouts international rating would determine how accurately he assesses the talent. i never thought of his rating as meaning he would find more, but i have no idea.

i also don't see in that manual link how you would assume that. unless there is another link i'm missing.

either way, can't we all get along???
