Re: NFL Thread
Don't know whether to cheer or cry!?!
Ultimately I think the Seahawks win this trade unless we can't find a QB

Brady back to the Bucs
Re: NFL Thread
Watson out on the Browns.
Was really scared the Browns were going to be relevant finally.

Re: NFL Thread
Mayfield split the Browns fans because many are also OSU fans and they despised him for planting the flag in their stadium. That has been a constant shitshow for the last 4 years. But what I saw on the fan forums regarding Watson blew that out of the water. It had to be 75% AGAINST getting Watson, including many Baker-haters. I don't know if that's just the wokeness flowing out of people or what, but I was kind of shocked.
I was hesitant about Watson because of all that, but just as much because I've never been high on him. I think he's got a relatively weak arm and said that all the way back from his time in college. I believe he was constantly bailed out by his WRs at Clemson and by Hopkins in Houston. I believe his numbers are greatly inflated due being in a spread system his entire career. I'm not saying he's bad, but it just made me hesitant knowing how none of that really fits what Cleveland has.
Unfortunately, I'm not a fan of any of the options that are left for the Browns. In order from least to best option...
Mariota - He's basically Kaep w/o the baggage. Unless Stefanski modified his PA offense to include more boots, I don't see it being functional. Mariota is ass from the pocket.
Ryan - Talent-wise, probably the best option, I just don't like that he'd only be around for 3yrs max and we'd be in the same boat again.
Winston - Actually think he's a decent scheme fit and he I don't fully blame him for the 30 INT season. I put a lot of that on Arians/Leftwich. They were enamored with chucking the ball up into coverage to try to take advantage of the WR size. Winston just happened to get too comfortable doing it too. I still believe he has the arm talent for the league and guys still tend to get behind him from a leadership perspective.
Garoppolo - He knows the system (similar to Shanahan's), he's not likely to outright lose you a game, but he's also not going to light the world on fire either. He's got a really quick release and is very accurate under 20yds. That would have been much more helpful when Landry/Beckham were around. Unfortunately, that's not how the offense is set up. Getting Jimmy G would require a WR addition that can consistently work underneath.
Mayfield - Still believe he's got more talent than any option above. There's way more to the issues in Cleveland than what 99% of people realize. Beckham/Landry were a big part of that. Beckham dropped more routine passes than any WR I can remember. Landry couldn't get separation from an LB. The offense was never adjusted to their skillsets. Then you compound it all with tons of injuries across the line, 2 years of huge COVID hits and Baker's shoulder/ankle injuries and it's a mess. In a perfect scenario, he internalizes it and balls out in a contract year with Cooper, a much improved Njoku and another new WR. That's kind of been his MO. Just not sure he's going to get that chance.
The last thing I want to do is go w/o a QB or have to rely on 1 in the draft. This class is really poor. Willis is the only one I'd look at in the 1st and Strong is about the only one I like after that. (Maybe Ridder?) Next year is loaded, but the team needs a QB right now. Chubb, Hunt, Njoku, Cooper... all in their prime with a good 2-3yr window. The defense is ready to take the jump to consistently being top 10. The last thing we need is to be lacking the most important position on the field when everything else is in a pretty good place.

Re: NFL Thread
Looks like Watson may be headed to ATL.
Time to talk myself into the haul ATL will give up, plus a hefty suspension, plus their current roster, plus the Saints resigning Winston makes us the real winner here!

So crazy. I really hope we sign a big WR. I've been eyeing Justyn Ross / George Pickens, now I'm really hoping that's something we look at.

Re: NFL Thread
We'll see... the Browns are either about to legit Super Bowl contenders for the next 5 years or we've just solidified our place in football hell until I'm retired. I'm still a concerned about how he fits with this system.

Re: NFL Thread
Supposedly, he chose Browns because they were the only team that gave him a fully guaranteed 5 years, $230mil.
If true, my Saints dodged a bullet, and I'm happy again.
