Re: NBA 2016-2017 Thread
I sorta get wanting to go be the man somewhere, but I guess it just comes down to that blind confidence players have, and probably must have to succeed. Kyrie probably truly believes he can go to any team and be the #1 player and contend for a title.
The reality is if he's your #1 player, just going .500 would be a success most likely. Without Lebron, he'd never be nearly as popular as he is and wouldn't have had all the success, the clutch shot in game 7 of the Finals, all that.
Funny thing, I read that Kyrie had the ball in his hands more last season than Lebron, time of possession. But he wants more!!!

So he had the ball more than Lebron, maybe he is a little better than you think, more of a #1 option then you are giving him some credit for? Saying he wouldn't be "nearly" as popular is based on opinion and not fact.shel311 wrote:I sorta get wanting to go be the man somewhere, but I guess it just comes down to that blind confidence players have, and probably must have to succeed. Did Shel just drop a clutch bomb up in herrrrrrr?!?!?
Re: NBA 2016-2017 Thread
Kyrie was also their #1 scorer and they finished dead last and drafted Andrew Wiggins. He's been a #1 before and failed. But we also dunno their personal life so it could be miserable playing with Lebron

Well, obviously.packsyd2284 wrote:Saying he wouldn't be "nearly" as popular is based on opinion and not fact.
But is is my opinion...not fact... that if Kyrie and Kemba Walker switched places the past 3 seasons, Kemba Walker would be MUCH more popular than Kyrie slumming it up in Charlotte.
I don't follow what you're saying. So he holds the ball a lot, great.packsyd2284 wrote:So he had the ball more than Lebron, maybe he is a little better than you think, more of a #1 option then you are giving him some credit for?
He does 1 thing well, score. He's a negative in every other aspect of the game. Good luck when that type of player is your #1 option. That wouldn't end well if he's your #1 guy. The Cavs were something like -120 in 620 minutes with Kyrie on and Lebron off. Kyrie on/Lebron off, Kyrie shoots the ball more per 36 than Kobe ever did....and the Cavs aren't remotely successful with Kyrie on/Lebron off, so how good is he really?

I would think for a certain personality of a professional athlete it would be very tough. These guys have been groomed and told all their life they are the best and the greatest.nick wrote:it could be miserable playing with Lebron
You now play with Bron and you are a role player that he facilitates to.
Some guys wouldnt care and would love the winning and titles that came with it let alone the statistical bumps he is giving you.
Others are selfish egotistical guys that "need to be the man" and show they don't need Lebron or anyone else to be a great player.
All theory but seems pretty accurate. Might be missing a mindset in between the 2 above.

Phoenix, what is wrong with you(if true?)
According to @WindhorstESPN, the Suns would consider trading Eric Bledsoe, Josh Jackson, and a Pick for Kyrie Irving.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Heat "are willing to part with Goran Dragic and Justise Winslow as centerpieces" in a trade for Kyrie Irving.

Not the Dragon!!!!
Re: NBA 2016-2017 Thread
while Goran is amazing and always gives 100% and is the exact type of player every team should desire, he's 31. Kyrie is 25. if kyrie is going to stick around then the deal is smart for the teams future.
I think the biggest issue would be Waiters and Kyrie together seems like a disaster waiting to happen while Goran is very willing to let Waiters take over at times

MJ came out with a quote ranking Kobe above Lebron.
There is something about 5 that beats 3.

MJ reeks of insecurity.
But he's still the GOAT.

Re: NBA 2016-2017 Thread
This is also why just because they played the game doesn't mean their hoops opinions mean much.
Anyone who thinks Kobe is better than Lebron either doesn't know much about basketball or has some personal motive for doing so, which MJ does.
