agreed. that said, they have to take someone to do it....can't not have police.

Really what they are doing with some people is hiring them, "training them", and crossing their fingers....

I've usually sided with the officer(s) in the most of the high media exposure situations that have come out... this was completely handled wrong. I see how he got off, from the standpoint that there was a physical movement of the hand to the waist. Legally, I get it. But watching that video from beginning to end is ridiculous. The approach, the instructions, and the lack of situational awareness. No tact at all in the method. I frequently defend the fact that they are in intense situations and have to make split second decisions, which is why legally, it's passable. But everything going up to the point was a crapshoot and I believe that entire engagement escalated the situation to a place that it didn't need to be.

Here is what a police officer buddy said about it:
The whole “crawl towards me” thing was kinda weird. As well as some of the other instructions. But whatever, idk their SOP. However, buddy DEFINITELY reached behind his back after the officer had already told him multiple times not to do so. Would I have shot? Maybe. Maybe not. Was it a justified shooting? Based on this clip, most definitely.
And I’ve been in situations where I could’ve justifiably shot someone. I didn’t, but I may also be overconfident in my other abilities and to a degree, am taking a huge risk by not taking justified action which is greater than whatever action I choose to take.
I always like to hear what they think when it comes to these things as they know first hand how these altercations can escalate quickly (on both sides).

Cops say they have a suspect in custody. Good thing that vest was poorly constructed. Could have been much worse

So yesterday, the Elf on the Shelf was hanging from the blinds of our kitchen window. We were out on the back porch, so you could see the back of the Elf.

My one boy saw it and said to me, "Dad, it's funny how the Elf has a tag on him just like all my other stuffed animals that came from the store."

He put me on the spot ,and the best I could come back with was, "That is funny."

Safe to say this is the last year for that, thankfully.

You can get Home Insurance discounts using them from some companies. I’ve wanted one.

I have 2 Nest cams. One on the front yard, one on the back.

It’s fanatatic. Plug and play, great app, awesome notifications.

Going on over a year and they are great.

The amount of dumb people that I have to deal with on a daily basis and who are in charge of things is staggering.

Guess I should have gotten the Nest last weekend instead of today. Woke up at 4am on the couch (fell asleep watching the UFC fights) and went upstairs to bed. Around 4:20 heard a bang and then male voices on my back porch. Grabbed the shotgun and went downstairs. They drove off before I could get down.

Now I am off to get the cameras today when BestBuy opens and possibly to Cabellas to get the wife a handgun
