This is like a line straight out of The Onion's site, LOL:
After they had heard about it, the 49ers were not concerned. For one thing, they won the game. For another, their offense is not highly sophisticated to where videotapes of a practice could help another team all that much.

Steve Johnson drops an apparent game winning TD pass and his team loses, so he blames God via twitter. Man, this guy is awesome, great endzone celebrations and now this, lol.

ESPN.com - ESPN football analyst Jon Gruden said Sunday night that he isn't leaving ESPN.
"I am committed to Monday Night Football and to ESPN," Gruden said in a statement. "I enjoy working with Mike, Jaws and our entire crew and am just trying to get better at this job."
Earlier Sunday, the South Florida Sun Sentinel, citing a University of Miami source, said Gruden initiated talks for the Hurricanes' open coaching position

By the way, can we get back to reality now?
Who is the best Quarterback in the league? There is only one right answer and you KNOW who it is.

I always laugh about this article

We may look back and say that Welker was a more serviceable player than anyone the Dolphins draft at No. 60 (or anyone they draft by packaging that No. 60 choice).
But he will never be a great player, just a good one.

I posted that in the other thread and to me that doesnt sound like a full blown denial like a "Im not leaving". I still think he is a long shot. I think we still go an up and coming coordinator which is going to piss me off and Id rather give Shannon another year or 2 personally.
The South FL ratings for a Cardinals-49ers game is gonna be off the charts though tonight.

If they go the unproven coordinator route who is just a name and not a proven record, yea Id rather have given Shannon another crack at it. At least he would bring in the recruits and possibly get some new coaches.
I do not want Venables. He plays in the no D Big 12 and would be a horrible hire and I think he is one of their top candidates.
I say that with tongue in cheek though as it depends on which coordinator they go for. Malzahn would be a risky hire with a possible great upside but not sure he is the right guy for it.
My list is 2 guys, Patterson and Peterson. Anyone outside of that will have to really wow me.

you're not getting those 2 guys. so i dont know why you keep torturing yourself.
Anything is better then Shannon. 'No D Big 12' can't be much worse then the ACC.
can someone show me Shannons recruiting history, i dont know where to find it. but i'm pretty sure outside the Jacory/Northwestern year they have been pretty 'average' classes (for Miami standards) and he couldn't do anything with the Jacory #1 class.

I know Miami isnt getting those 2 guys but that is who I would want.
Not torture since I know they arent coming.
Shannon has had top 10 recruiting classes including a #1 in his tenure. Agree though that no point in getting awesome recruiting classes if you cant coach them up.
Like I said, tongue in cheekish that if we hire an unproven coordinator might as well just stayed with the crap we already have instead of getting my hopes up with this awesome new beginning and a possible proven winner.
The only coordinator id be pretty happy about is Malzahn but you never know about these "hot" coordinators taking over a big program and in the drivers seat for the first time.
