If you guys didn't export yet, you have time.
On my way to work. Haven't started sim yet. Also have a 10-11 AM meeting at work.
So I will post once I start the sim so you guys know at that point I pulled exports.

Crap, had 4 days to find some free agents I've been wanting to make offers on, and I went 4 days without looking or offering anything to these free agents

Pulling exports now.
FYI, it will take a little while to go through all the lists and get the Rule 5 draft completed in between work.
So please be patient. I will let you know once the file is uploading.

Re: 2032 Season - The Junior Year (Ready 12/25)
In theory... could we turn ON firing of GM's, and then mediate our own coaching carousel, ensuring that all 30 jobs still have NDL owners?
Ex. I have a few bad years, and I get fired. 2 other coaches (reign and niddler) get fired that year too, there are 3 openings. Each of us has some sort of pecking order to pick a new job (career record, something we determine) and we fill the 3 open jobs.
The fact that we can't get fired is kind of crazy. Just a thought, could make it fun, and would give everyone a reason to try to win, and win now.

In theory, yes. In practice, terrible idea
You may see some guys quit if they lost the team they've been tied to for so long. Also, if crappy teams fire their GM, there's a chance no one would even want to leave their teams for that vacant spot.

Re: 2032 Season - The Junior Year (Ready 12/25)
You'd have a lot more Marty Ramirez types getting signed a lot earlier on in free agency when a guy needs to make the playoffs this year or he gets the ax. You'd have way less stud 25/26 year old guys getting traded to start yet another rebuild. People would know they're on the clock when they take a job, no 10 year rebuilds and no tanking.shel311 wrote:In theory, yes. In practice, terrible idea

Id vote for it.Seeitsaveit13 wrote:In theory... could we turn ON firing of GM's, and then mediate our own coaching carousel, ensuring that all 30 jobs still have NDL owners?

Some benefits I see:
1) people would sign more veterans
2) people might hold onto their best players in mid twenties not just continually trade them in search of more prospects.
3) as long as owners get a new job it'd be fun and would add another level of intrigue to our game and maybe more involvement from some owners.

Re: 2032 Season - The Junior Year (Ready 12/25)
For those that like the idea of a restart? Someone gets fired, go take their team. There's not a roster in this league that can't be fixed in a few years with the right effort. Hate your mericless owner? Take the next open job elsewhere.
Maybe 1 of the 30 teams has the notoriously worst owner there is. "Aww man, don't wanna get stuck in XXXX" Ok, don't suck, don't tank, and you won't have a shot of being the last coach on the carousel and landing in XXXX.

1. I still am not sure these vacancies would get filled, for the most part.
2. If you do this, you may as well do a restart with it, it would make the most sense.

Would certainly add another level to the "Best GM" debates, seeing who can win in multiple places
