No you can get in vehicles with other team members other than your squad there is one tank that is just one person, I haven't paid attention to which one it is specifically but there is one tank where I don't seem to be able to get in with even a squad member driving.

Another thing, I forgot to mention in playing this game is USE YOUR SUPPORTIVE ROLES, assault lay down some medic packs when you see your guys around you on the minimap with the medic sign on them, if you have the defibulator heal some dudes cause that helps with the reinforcement tickets. Engineers, I've said it, repair, take out vehicles. Assault, lay out some ammo, so people can refill there grenades at least. Recon, use your beacons at first than get the motion detector and lay them out in strategic positions to show enemy movement.

There are also two modes in the game, hardcore and normal, on hardcore servers, vehicles and people do not automatically heal over time, they must be attended to by an engineer or medic. Spotting doesn't work (I still haven't figured out how to spot in a normal game, if any one knows let me know, I just found out how to switch weapons in vehicles). Bullets have more of an affect, no HUD and friendly fire on.

Apparently there is a way to create a private server for training purposes.

To "Spot" a target on a map, infantry or vehicle, you have to be aiming down the sights at the target and then hit the select button while aiming at that target.

When I do that though it looks like it just brings up a score sheet or something.

Ive been playing since the BETA released and still feel like a complete noob. They really need to patch the mic issues though, in-game coms between squadmates is so garbled that its hard to know what anyone is saying. Was still fun over all. @Trendon, I had the same prob with the stinger but this morning tried what shift said and it worked much better. I think if you can level up to level 7 as quickly as possible then you can open up the PP2000 and that gun is pretty sweet. good rate of fire and does decent damage. I also really like the M416 which also is pretty decent at killing and decent range.

If you hold it down it gives a score sheet but if you just press it like you would to jump...so not holding it down, then it will mark the target. I spammed the crap out of the select last night to try it out and it worked decent. helped get me some extra xp too.

Is there an offline version of this? missions and such or is this strictly an online game.

Yes there is a campaign mode that is pretty cool but it is not nearly as bad ass as the online. The one thing Campaign mode has over online is pure visuals. The online looks good but the campaign looks 100x better. Sometimes it's too good cause it's hard to see where some enemies are sometimes.

I finally got to play last night. The Sound is freaking amazing. I have some Turtle Beach 21 headsets (I think that's the number) and you know exactly where everything is coming from. It is awesome.

Do you have the sound setting on "War Tapes", I put mine on that from the get go, I have been thinking about trying out the other settings, like home cinema with the surround sound but war tapes just sounds bad ass.

Info on a patch coming out...

http://mp1st.com/2011/10/28/battlefield ... -and-more/
Balance

Alan Kerts, Battlefield 3′s Gameplay Designer, reveals that “pistols will be getting a bit of love in the near future.” A slight improvement in the damage department for pistols is certainly welcome. After nerfing the UMP since the beta, Kerts admitted ”it [UMP] got the nerf bat pretty hard. Gave it back some power today. I’ll be playing to monitor balance.” The UMP is unlocked at level 16 and can be used on all kits.

Some fans have been outspoken about the effectivity of the jets asking for improvement. One fan expressed his concerns to Fredrik Thylander demanding “they [jets] need a buff.” Thylander, Senior Designer at DICE, confirmed “they [jets] are getting it [the buff].”

Issues

DICE is looking into the following issues, besides the usual server problems:

PS3 users communication problems.
BF3.exe has stopped responding on PC.
Teaming up with friends and getting into the same side.
PS3 input lag.
Other issues in yesterday’s post.

I think to some extent but brett and I were playing last night and I couldnt understand a thing he said during the game, and half the time couldnt hear him at all, then when we were in the lobby it was better.

Looks like the next patch will hopefully solve it.

There are issues with communicating on the PS3. It's a known issue to them and they're currently putting a patch together with that in mind. I posted the patch information somewhere, just don't remember where.
