Nothing really like that around here... Centerville is a close one that is decent, but it's not so much different than the school I went to (upgraded after I left). Big difference is the school I went to had about 500 kids in the high school... in total. Just over 90 on the football team, 120ish in the band.

I know that 2 of the better HS stadiums are in NE Ohio... Canton Fawcett Stadium, which I think is just called Hall of Fame stadium, where the Hall of Fame NFL preseason game is held, has been the home of state championship games and Canton McKinley (I think 2 other schools). About 15min away is Massillon Paul Brown Tiger Stadium, which has also hosted state championship games.

Surprisingly, the major Cincinnati schools like Moeller and Elder have fairly small fields. But they work out deals for most of their major games to have them played at UC's Nippert Stadium (also the current home of FC Cincinnati) or Paul Brown Stadium (Bengals home).

It's definitely not Texas, but I've seen some pretty awesome crowds at high school football games around here.

Here is the link where I coach, but I mean it really pales in comparison to those stadiums.

It is at a JC and the pics I'm finding online aren't doing it justice. It seats around 12 k which we have sold out a time or two.

So the company I have my student loan through and am still paying is having a small, $5billion issue.

So the company is suing a bunch of people for not paying on their loans, no big deal there. What's happening is that those who choose to fight the case in court, the company has basically "lost" the paperwork for loans and can basically no longer prove they're the owner of the loan. So these people are having the cases thrown out and no longer have to pay their student loans.

Seems like a shitty thing that those who don't pay are going to benefit from this, but someone like me who has made every payment on time for about 12 years now still has to pay them? Boo!!!

it showed up on reddit somewhere yesterday too. the ELI5 was that if you pay your loans the odds of them getting lost are very low because your loan is with a reputable company who keeps their own paperwork. But when you don't pay, your loan is sold out. The less you pay, the more likely the times it is sold. With each transaction you are getting less and less reputable companies and paperwork can get lost each time it is sold as well. If the companies can't provide proof of the loan, it gets thrown out.

But seriously, I wonder how that works. The articles I'm reading are making it sound like National Collegiate, the originator of the loan, is the one who botched this and will lose out.

But if they're selling the loans, then I'd think it's out of their hands, and they're not really losing anything, right? It would be whatever companies that are buying the default loans up.

yeah, usually it sounds like the the people who buy the loans are the ones losing it more often than not. So if your loan is with national collegiate and you don't pay, they may sell it to Cnasty Inc for 50% of the loan. But Cnasty Inc can still collect on it completely. National collegiate though is done with it, they got their 50% and have no part of the loan. So even if Cnasty Inc asks for the paperwork after it is sold and they are getting sued, National Collegiate doesn't have to try and find it and would have no reason to.

So the news has been making a big deal lately out of this OJ Simpson parole hearing coming up tomorrow. Breaking news today is that his parole is in jeopardy because...he was caught masturbating in his cell in June. And he hasn't had a hearing yet about that violation, so that could screw up his parole hearing.

At this point, you could tell me the flying spaghetti monster helped OJ escape from prison, and I'd believe it.

Tough call here, which do you prefer:

The juice wasn't worth the squeeze

or

If you stroke your pole, there's no parole

I guess that explains all the fighting and prison rapes?

Seems like dudes would be a lot happier if you didn't take THAT freedom away from them.

Apparently the OJ masturbation story was fake.

But, this article about why it isn't allowed is real:

https://tonic.vice.com/en_us/article/yp ... masturbate

And it's weird. Isn't restricting masturbation cruel and unusual punishment?

Dang, with the way these things worked, I assumed after the hearing, they would take another 6-9 months to review and make a decision lol.

I never thought the board would make such a quick decision like that.

I'm excited for the inevitable photo shops of OJ in the role of the old guy who got paroled in Shawshank.
