Hope it turns out better than the last 10+ year deal they did.

$221K per game
$98K per day

Hard to fathom.

Opening Day comes and goes and...crickets. Not that I have any idea what's going on.

This is a pretty funny but seemingly spot on breakdown of that rogue ump picking on the Astros:

Braves lock in Acuna with 8 year 100 mil deal. Youngest player ever to get 100 mil. Looks like a steal for the club. Now if we can just avoid getting swept by Phillies every time we play.

I follow the Sox daily, mlb happenings but have totally tuned out any importance until August/September.

Season is way too damn long.

Yup, I follow Cubs daily and know everything going on but league wide news I have absolutely zero interest in. Maybe August I can care but really it’s September. Let’s get DH in both leagues and the pitch clock implemented as well as eliminating pick off throws and that’s a start

Seattle leading the league in many offensive categories. Slide will start in May after everyone starts buying tickets again. Not sure they can keep a 7.6 runs/game streak going. We shall see!

He deferred only 5 mil at 8 percent interest but didn’t start collecting on the deferment until several years later. Close to a 30 mil investment.

Yesterday, Joey Votto popped up to first base...for the 1st time...in his career.

Half the time I don't even know if these "facts" ae actually factual. Where do you find these? I'm assuming it's true, and this is amazing

Votto is off to his worst start ever. He's a super analytical guy, so it will be interesting to watch him adjust. His swing rate is up ton, his launch angle at a career high, his exit velocity is down significantly, among a lot of other things. He has been tinkering with his hands nearly every game this season and even when he makes contact, it looks weak. It's like he's just trying to put the bat on the ball, not even attempt to drive it in any way. For a guy that's made a living on driving the ball all over the field and having a great eye, he's in tough spot. He had a good sign last night when he had a lead off home run, but then he had one of the laziest swings I've ever seen from him in the 7th/8th.
