He rushed to get back, his knee wasn't fully healed....and as anybody knows, when you favor one area (knee), you put others at risk.

Now, as a fan, that sucks....as a ManU fan/Liverpool hater, that's fine with me :D

I watched this game, along with some of the USA games when they were still in it, but did it seem the players were flopping more than a Duke Basketball game? Seems like ever 5 minutes someone falls to the ground like they cant walk, then they jump back up and take off running again.

That's what happens when the ref starts handing out yellow cards like Reese's PB cups on Halloween--everyone tries to make sure they get him to hand out more.

Quotes from Thursday, June 24:
jsence2 wrote:Howard Webb should not ref another match in this World Cup. Neither should the linesmen, absolutely horrid. One goal not given, one goal disallowed, both should have counted.

Meanwhile Slovakia is blatantly wasting time and see no bookings.
jsence2 wrote:Peay, Italy has lost many times in the past few years and I haven't had many qualms with anybody OTHER than the Italians themselves--whether it was shitty tactics, poor team selection, or just a lack of desire (winning can make you complacent, just like any other sport). That said, Italian fans have a legit complaint with Howard Webb's decisions today. And it's not like this is just some random ref--Howard Webb has long been one of the top referees in England, but he was criticized early and OFTEN this season for a lot of controversial calls, including last summer at the Confederation's Cup (he was the ref who missed the blatant handball in the Egypt-Brazil match and then "made up" the call after getting info from the 4th official (which isn't allowed) a few moments later by sending off an Egyptian player and giving a red card.

He also was the ref for SPain-Switzerland (where he missed the Swiss player who scored, being offsides; and missed two clear penalties that should've been given to Spain)....and sadly enough will be the referee in the World Cup final.

Uuaww wrote:Jsense, agree with the comments on Webb (mostly) but I don't think that he will get the final. IMO FIFA will likely give it to the Uruguayan ref (forget his name) or the German ref (Stark) If FIFA was going off of how well they have performed, the Final SHOULD go to either the Uruguay Ref, the Uzbek (Irmatov) or the Hungarian (Kassai). The problem with Irmatov and Kassai though is they are FIFA's up and comers, the two youngest refs here. In reality, I think that FIFA will give it to Stark unless Germany makes the final.

Stark and Kassai are awesome, they basically are big on the "let them play" stance.

Edit: Looks like Kassai might get US vs Ghana.

Uuaww, I wish you had been right, we would've gotten a solid match I think.

And I wish I'd been wrong....but Howard Webb proved me right.

Yeah, they did a remix of it (Coca Cola Remix) to get rid of some of the more political and depressing stuff in it. It was the official "celebration" song; they gave the official song to that crap Shakira put out....Shel loved it

hes a Canadian citizen, which makes him canadian,

if he's not canadian 3/4s of the country isnt canadian, diversity and immigration are a hell of a thing.
lol giving you a hard time, citizenship is different but just someone moving there when they are 14th would hardly be worth considering a nationality. i would consider him somalian tho
